All "free markets" are tax funded. Otherwise markets would be mob(strong/rich) ruled or rule-less.
If you want to make the case that government shouldn't subsidize infrastructure (roads, sewers, water, electric grid, airport, railways, internet) then make it. Just don't get bogged down in the petty. |

Re: lolWith a few thousand sub nationwide, it would be a pretty small group here, given the typical % on a DSLR forum vs total users. some day they'll be big enough, some day. |

I doubt there will ever be more than a few thousand Google Fiber customers. When Google has two million dark OTNs I'll believe. I see very little difference between Google Fiber and the Google open cell network. Google is not and never will be a where the rubber hits the road company. They are great at selling ideas for someone else to deliver on. Maybe they can use taxpayer funded NOAA weather balloons as Google Loons. |

Re: GoogleThey can announce Tampa tomorrow but doesn't mean you'll ever have service. Hell Austin was announced well before Provo and they're "working" in that area, but yet they still keep adding cities for the "us too" game they like to play. |

Re: lolDon't act like the broadband companies you come here as a mouthpiece for didn't get their tax payer funded free market ride.
Every one of them got to enjoy many incentives including governmental ones and market capture pricing profits. |
so RCN and WOW got those same incentives? And what money did the gov't give MSOs? |
Tax incentives and policies that allow for monopolistic pricing are the exact same thing as handing them a check. |

When you find them come back; hint look for them next to the free long distance from MCI. Why worry if you are right enjoy but don't dare try to put your hand in my pocket; look at what I did to EX-governor Corzine. |
