...more important...but it's more important for the citizenry, which are the government's allies incidentally ( or basically THEM), to see when their individual private data is being improperly used by the government so that the citizenry can later elect government representatives that will not continue to perform these acts against the citizenry. |

Stupid terrorists"If our adversaries know which platforms the Government does not surveil, they can communicate over those platforms when, for example, planning a terrorist attack or the theft of state secrets."
Evidently the US gummint is only looking for really dumb terrorist--that is the ones that use the internet to coordinate their attacks. The smart ones will use face-to-face contact and/or hand delivered messages (which is why it took a decade to locate Osama Bin laden).
Or perhaps all this surveillance isn't all about terrorism as they claim. |

1984Just like in the book "1984" ,war with a mysterious other faction, in this case "adversaries", is always used as an excuse to be opaque and abuse the power given to you. |

definition of a terrorist: they do what they want while disregarding law, they answer to no one.

Where is the Google Snowden?OMG Obama is Bush. When the towers came down it was game, set, match. The pigs have won; one only has to look at Boston to know the domestic spying is run by clowns for clowns. People laughed when I voted for Jeffery Boss, the NSA was behind 9/11 party. It's not to late, Boss in 16. quote: JEFF BOSS WITNESSED THE NSA ARRANGE THE 911 ATTACKS

Plus......it would be even more embarrassing to us government types if the public found out just how incompetent we are. |

"Adversaries" = U.S. CitizensSuch information would be invaluable to our adversaries citizens, who could thereby derive a clear picture of where the Governments surveillance efforts abuses are directed and how its surveillance activities change over time grow exponentially over time," ... and then could take steps to remove political and bureaucratic cronies to curb said abuses. |

Re: Stupid terroristsThis is the problem with the whole system, They cast a wide net to catch the next 9/11 but because of that they miss the Boston type attacks.
Sucking in data only helps if your targets are actually generating data. |

Re: 1984Dread Pirate Roberts was such a peace loving anarchist that he attempted to hire a hit man on multiple occasions to kill off one of his former employees, and a person who was trying to blackmail him. Yeah, he is such a martyr and political prisoner being persecuted by the federal government. |

Re: Plus...said by JakCrow:...it would be even more embarrassing to us government types if the public found out just how incompetent we are. That horse left the barn a long, long time ago although with the recent F.B.I. vs TOR events it looks like the government has finally found someone with an IQ of over 4 to work for them. They've actually come up with some simple and elegant solutions in order to bypass the security afforded by TOR. It's downright scary. |

Your tinfoil hat is too tight, get a bigger one. Oh good I feel better. I thought the NSA was spying on their girlfriends. But if you and General Custer say that only happens when they are board I believe.
