Huffington Post nails it...

That's exactly what we will face in the absence of proper Net Neutrality regulations. There is also another cost not mentioned: smaller internet sites and service providers would likely move offshore or start-up outside the USA in order to avoid the toll charges our big oligopoly Telecoms would charge for decent access to consumers. They may de-emphasize the U.S. market due to high costs and concentrate on the rest of the world.

Of course this costs the USA jobs, G.D.P. and tax revenue. Our money flows out and overseas and other nations benefit and surpass us in Tech Industry.

Netflix and Bandwidth.

Why are ISPs so seemingly upset that Netflix uses bandwidth.

Netflix pays for bandwidth - a hefty sum I suspect.
And the customer pays

Why are they always treating Netflix like they are getting a free ride?

NetZero still exists...

And they're probably still lying to their customers.

google and canada

Sure would be nice if canada knew how the internet worked.

Dude checking for sleep apnea, Of course if he keeps cookies(expiry date may be 1 year) he will get medical ads if he keeps searching for medical things.
I've seen some interesting ad results on peoples computer who claim they don't surf porn and yet the ads are... very interesting.
Lets do something about cookies, but that is still a global issue to deal with.

Google anti-competitive? Shit, unless this is more than just, "hey people!!! Quit using Google because there are other search engines out there!!!" , might as well blame users for choosing to do business with Google instead of other providers.
In Europe, Microsoft had to display a flash screen on new computers so that people could choose another browser. How about we blame the user instead for being illiterate to the tools of the internet. Stick a fork in their side to let them know that forks hurt.

[sarcasm] rogers is being anti-competitive with its coming hulu clone. Hulu already exists, so why do canadians need a third rate waste of bandwidth. [endsarcasm]
With the illegal trans pacific partnership, streaming from non-canadian global-web-sites, while in canada will be a crime according to the 3 billionaires who own 'canadian tv broadcast' rights to the content. Thats definitely anti-competitive. But since they also own the canadian media, you won't hear about that in canada.

Re: Netflix and Bandwidth.

Let's not forget I pay them for access to Netflix.

They act like Netflix is just some skulking freeloader. I.S.P. Internet ACCESS Provider! What do we pay them for?
