"Not Interested"Charlie has a plan, and if Verizon wants that spectrum, they will have to go along with his plan. If he sees the writing on the wall and it's time to get out of the business, the only way Verizon will get it is to buy Dish. |

Re: "Not Interested"Charlie better hurry up, because if they don't have that spectrum deployed to 40% of the US by 2017 they lose that spectrum. |

Re: "Not Interested"So with T-Mobile and Sprint in play, I could also see Sprint making a pass at Dish and/or Dish's spectrum, and of course the article mentions Dish making a pass at T-Mobile.
I don't see Charlie Ergen selling just the spectrum and leaving the video part of his company to wither on the vine. He's either looking to buy T-Mobile or sell the whole company |

Was that before or after Softbank bought Sprint? T-Mobile and Sprint both talk about spectrum being a major reason they want to merge, but if they're serious about that and the FCC or DOJ won't allow that to happen, then they will need to get serious about Dish's spectrum. |

Dish Network recently won the bidding for wireless broadband frequencies in all 176 U.S. markets auctioned by the Federal Communications Commission.
The H Block is a 10 MHz block of paired airwaves that runs from 1,915-1,920 MHz (for the uplink) and from 1,995-2,000 MHz (for the downlink).
Dish was the ONLY bidder.
For the record in a lot of areas Sprint owns 1910-1915 MHz and 1990-1995 MHz. Seems like this spectrum would have been a good match. |

that was only the PCS H spectrum, not the nationwide AWS-4 Dish owns |

Verizon Eyes Dish SpectrumThis is exactly why Verizon is being investigated by the FCC. They are reneging on conditions imposed in prior obligations to position themselves favorably for wireless instead of complying with gov't conditions set on terrestrial networks. And, if you think Eric H. Holder, Jr is going to do anything about it, you're a fool. Crooked unethical American business and government at it's finest. |

There is nothing wrong with Verizon buying spectrum Dish has no intentions of using anyway. Sprint, T-Mobile and At&T are free to go and offer a price to Dish too. |
