yes...

It is useless lame-ass software to start with (God I hope you are reading Igor, you twit). Maybe someone should start sending virii to his email under the pretense of "helpware." LOL.

Up the creek in just one day!

Wow the power of the forum speaks. In one day Radlight went from a C|NET recommended to one of the most notorious programs on the net. Igor the idiot also managed to make his archrival Ad-Aware the hero of the day. Sucks to be Igor. Check out his own forums.

Let this be a lesson to all scumware writers. You might fool some folks and get away with crap for a while but one day your program could die a sudden death like Radlight.

any add/remove should be illegal

no program should be able to add anything other than the program its self or uninstall anything from your PC with your explicate permission
and if it does remove something, it should have to be something that will not make it work at all...ever

that player will run whether or not Ad-aware is installed

i also think that any program adding an auto starting app that will run every time you reboot should have to include on option to not use that part...and not some hidden checkbox...*cough* Real media players *cough*

Simtel Response

Could it be that it would be a greater harm to the community to censor legal software? Who becomes the censor? You? Me?

For instance after 9/11 there was a great hue and cry from a certain "community" to remove all (legal) email encryption software because it could be used to encrypt email between terrorists.

Would removing that software help or harm the "community"?

Beware the slippery slope. "

Well of course. We should all have realized that what Radlight is doing is preserving democracy and free speech for us all by attacking other programs on our hard drives. What could be more patriotic?

If I were up for a promotion all I have to do is beat the sh*t out of the other candidates and I win!! Hey, maybe if I tattoo a disclaimer on my fist then that means I can't be liable right? They didn't pay for the beating so how can they complain about something they got for free? I mean they chose to go for that same promotion so they were asking for it.

What a bunch of crap.

Dumb Luck

The only thing worse than being talked about, is NOT being talked about.

yep......

This is one of the major reasons why i ditched windows and went with Linux in the first place. No more *spyware* or expensive software. I dont know what RadLight is like, but im 100% positive the program named MPlayer »mplayerhq.hu/ for *nix outperforms it second to none. Its free, and contains absolutely no spyware or the like. And best of all, its open source! It even plays DVD movies as well, and all your fancy wierd movie formats. If people wanna use this crap with spyware, let them. Ill just continue to sit back and be proud that it isnt me.

Radlight = Spyware = Viruses

What's the difference between spyware and viruses? They both run behind the scenes, delete files, and screw with your computer! Isn't this an invasion of privacy?
