Xbox is a computer

WTF is the point of an x-box if u have a computer i mean the Xbox is a computer it has a nvidia geforce vid car pentium III 64 mb ram and an 8 gb HD... i mean u can even upgrade the damn thing... my friend changed the video card on his X-box with a better one and the graphics were much better... then he put it back of course.... well anywho... Xbox is pointless.... if ur gonna buy a consol buy a Gamecube or a PS2

Graphics?

At least with a PC you _can_ upgrade your video board. With a counsole system you are stuck with it's hurting graphics. Why do some games look better? Because all the counsole game has to worry about is rendering. I've yet to see a game with the complexity of levels that can be seen in PC games. HOW much memory does a counsole game have? Can you upgrade that? Oh, no eh? hmm...pardon me while I drop in this new one meg DDR stick I have a PS2. I love some of the games for it (waiting for the Macross title later this year!!!!! at long long last!!!!!! *happy dance*) but I'll use it for a paperweight when Unreal 2 comes out later this year.

But, this whole thing is age old. It's like Ford vs Chevy (american muscle blows you rice burners outa the water btw, that's for the guy with the gas-guzzler comment ). Or taste great vs less filling, crush and stretch vs perminant would cavity, autococker vs automag,.......oh, wait were was I

Anyways, you can NOT rule out Nentendo for one simple reason.....Japan.....Nintindo is in their blood, it's almost a way of their culture for those guys. They won't let it die

I love my Gamecube...

..and I'm psyched for the Mario Sunshine and Zelda release as well as the new DBZ game for the cube (no date yet)

Although there hasn't been mention of expected titles, I am excited about online gaming with the cube. I believe from what I read at »nintendo.com that they are not charging royalty fees for developers that use the software and develop their titles for online use.

PS2 sucks!

I bought an Xbox, and have had the opportunity to play several P$2 games, like GTA3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Deus Ex, and Tony Hawk 3. IMHO, the Xbox has much better graphics, better sound, and offers a better all around experience. Plus, with the Xbox's built-in hard drive, you can finally have expansion packs for console games, as was just done this month for the incredible Dead or Alive 3 (check the Xbox magazine for the expansion pack--and it only costs the price of the magazine.) To match the Xbox hard drive, you'd have to spend $15,000 for memory cards. Oh, wait...$ony is releasing a hard drive for P$2 soon. So you'll have to shell out another $199 bucks for that. I played Deus Ex on P$2 tonight, and the graphics were so crappy, I thought I was looking at the original Tony Hawk on a Play$tation.
The main thing that $ony has going for them is they have been the leader for so long, so they have the easiest time getting the coolest games first (like GTA3). And I'm sorry, but my Saturn smokes the crap out of my kids P$, and my DC games look and sound better than most of the popular P$2 games.

Firstly: The gamecube is not a failure in Japan, the Xbox is averaging a whopping 8,000 units a week while the GC is averaging 30,000, thats a hell of alot better then 8,000.

Secondly: The Xbox is a failure not only in Japan but steadily in Europe as well, While in its first week the Gamecube sold 500,000 total units in Europe.

Thirdly: The XBox will not "beat" the PS2, that's just a fantasy, Sony has the console market by its neck.

No one can touch Sony right now and the Gamecube pretty much is whipping ass worldwide compared to the XBox, the only place where the Xbox has an edge is in the US .. and that's by a mere weeks worth of sales.

Its a proven fact once the Pokemons, Zelda's and Marios release worldwide it will blow open more sales, those are KEY franchises, they have ALWAYS sold extremely well.

I own all 3 consoles I love them all to death, I'm enjoying RE for the GC right now, I just about played THPS3 to death online with the PS2 on 56k might I add (NEtworked the PC to the USB Ethernet adapter via ICS on my dial up properties) and played JSRF and Halo to death on my Xbox.

But when it comes down to sales The PS2 will never be taken down in this console war, and I expect the Gamecube to do extremely well and the Xbox to pick up a bit.

Nintendo is going down...........

The biggest mistake that NIntendo made as did Sega with there dreamcast was that no DVD playback was available. The two top dogs will duke it out between Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo will fold and go the way of sega and develop games for both sony and microsoft. Oh and by the way, both these systems dropped there prices to $199. What will nintendo do now, drop to $99? No thanks. Memo to Nintendo: you had your run in the 80's and 90's but will become like the dinosaurs: extinct. Gone but not forgotten.

nintendo is amazing

I have been working for Nintendo for 4 months now as a tester on PC games. I have been testing this game called Space Mission. You hook it up to your machine and it comes with a cannister. you put on a mask and man it's amazing. the mask fills you with nitreous oxide (dentist gas). Man today I was really flying after the Creetin enemy, through the asteroid belt. You put that mask on and you are in that cockpit. dude!!!
