Tele-Media cable uses Adelphia Powerlink for their cable modem service in CT. Does this mean that this service will be shut down? Is this the type of service that a CLEC would provide?

| What Likely Happened Adelphia Business Solutions planned on expanding it's operations into several states. Most of what occurred was planning work, with some sales, marketing, management staff and local operations staff and equipment. When Adelphia Business Solutions realized they could not fully support the expansion after beginning it, an increasing amount of responsibility for it went to it's parent company, Adelphia Communications. (Realize that this was all in the family so activities are intertwined and intermingled together, so many operations and expansion plans were for both cable and telephony operations).
Since Adelphia Business Solutions' Chapter 11 filing as well as Adelphia's Chapter 11 filing, this is "unfinished business" which must be attended to.
Adelphia's remaining CLEC operations will likely be sold to Adelphia Business Solutions eventually as this plays out further. [text was edited by author 2002-09-02 20:01:46]
