In the eastern suburbs, us ATTBI people are fed up with the price increase and looking to Satellite and DSL/Wirelees. In the western suburbs, the folks with TWC lost their Fox Sports Net so they can't watch Gophers, Wild, or select T-wolve games. I'd like to hear from a satellite person or a dsl customer service that has dealt with a lot of dissatisifed customers wanting to just get rid of their current service.
I for one, am looking into the alternatives as we speak. If not now, for sure within a few months. It almost seems monopolistic, to only have one cable company per region, how many folks live in a place where they can choose their cable company. Until recently, no one could even choose their phone company.

| | | Some shortsighted people... I just love all the people that say "it's a price increase, deal with it, go elsewhere if you don't like it, blah blah blah" as if people shouldn't speak out against a rate hike. People that sit and accept whatever is given to them without even questioning are people who will forever sit on the sidelines watching meekly.
Why not question the increase? Why if I now decide to buy cable television do I get a rate $15-20 cheaper? Interesting timing in that cable television usage declined slightly. Wouldn't it be interesting if the prices went up another $15-20 unless you purchase ATT Digital phone service? Call it bundling, but the pricing structure is more than suspect. | |

I just have AT&T Broadband, now CONcast, and the digital telephone service. Two seemingly bundled services.
So, if I don't want cable TV and I don't have a TV anyway, I'm still subject to the higher broadband cost? Am I forced to buy a TV and Cable so I can get the discount?!? I don't have a desire to be forced to do either.
I'd suggest a mass exodus. Switch to another phone carrier and internet provider, til the bozos at CONcast reduce the internet costs to a competitive level...it was before they took it over...
Luckily, in California, at least, there are other internet and phone providers. I'd switch back to Verizon and their DSL, slower, but CHEAPER. I was paying $42.95 with AT&T (CONcast), Verizon was $49.95. I thought I was saving some dough.
