Wow

You guys are all spoiled, most of the US continues to pay high prices for low bandwidth/crappy service.

I'm paying 50/month for 768/128 DSL through QX.net (Alltel lines) and if I want to upgrade to a 1.5/256 line I have to shell out 90 a month.

At least it is reliable and unlimited bandwidth.

Chicago Wireless Options

For the Chicago Comcast complainers, there seems to be many wireless options available, many at the different frequencies.

I just read about someone acquiring a Canopy Wireless license for the NW suburbs. Canopy is the high speed wireless technology developed by Motorola. We are talking miles of range, not Wifi at all!

2nd Suspension on Comcast

Tonight I have been suspended for the 2nd time on Comcast for "bandwidth abuse". (No warning letter this time) The first time I was suspended (after my letter was sent to an old address), they said their are no defined limits for bandwidth abuse. So I monitored my bandwidth. As far as I could tell I did not over exceed bandwidth continually. I believe it is a file size limit downloaded a month. Anyway Comcast sucks. I am getting Verizon DSL. I wish I had a choice for cable TV because I would dump Comcast in a heartbeat and go with another cable TV company. Unfortunately I will have to live with Comcast cable TV and a slower Verizon DSL. I hope Comcast gets what they deserve and going out of business would be my biggest wish for them. Why can't there be more than one cable company operating in the same area. At least we could choose a competitor to make them feel the pain. - Reading, PA
