Tell me about it. I wish it would come here so I could dump Comcast. They are my only option and I hate them.
I wonder what other features there will be. Like static ip's and server operations. I need something bad in my home for this. I have excellent Nextel coverage where I am. I would easily pay $75 per month for their service. |

Sounds great, but Cingular's got something new to throw into the mix. A "MEdia Plan" for 19.99 a month that somehow includes unlimited GPRS data, available as an add-on to voice plans. May be slow, but a heck of a deal. |

Nextel has horrible customer relations. Dealing with them is like talking to the IRS not a business. I dont know whats wrong with them. Yeah yeah we all have complaints against some company one way or the other, but nextel just caters too much to production type people.
They need to concentrate on aquiring more customers, but they dont seem to have a problem with holding such a small peice of the marketshare so whatever floats their boat. -- I tie a rope around my penis and jump from a tree, don't you wanna grow up to be just like me!!!! |

It will be interesting to see the first users that come here for assistance. Looks and sounds great ... just have to hope that it really works great. -- Chilly likes it |

Another selling point of Flash OFDM technology is that it offers less than 20 milliseconds of latency and full QoS |

| As long as it doesn't use proprietary devices.
I think this is a great thing... as long as I'm not forced to use some proprietary PC card to use it. My sister has Sprint PCS, and while slower, she doesn't have to use some wonky (and generally Windows-only) PC (PCMCIA) card to use it. I've seen a few that force you to install some useless card.
So, cell phone companies: Listen. People like me will never use your service if you use proprietary cards. If you let me use a Bluetooth phone and industry-standard protocols then I will. And it has to support at very least Mac OS X (Linux would be nice, too) in addition to the ubiquitous Windows support. Otherwise, screw your proprietary technology.

| Alternative for lots of people
This could be a GREAT alternative for users who are already paying 50/mo for cable. With a download speed that was (until recently) the same as cable (except for rr) and a higher upload speed than most cable companies (once again with rr being the exception), this service allows you to take that broadband on the road with you too! This actually is a pretty good price for the unlimited plan if you have a nextel phone already and hate your local broadband service. -- low cost public gameservers www.clanpubs.net |
|
  RTPnc
@rr.com | Check the nextel broadband web site to see that their service is tier'd and to get 1.5 mb service, the cost is not competitive with cable. the cable competitive price point only provides for 750kb down/215 up. |
