| Sow's ear out of a Silk Purse As a "computer-repair service that makes house calls" I view this as direct competition for my customers, at least up to the point of an actual service call. Leave it up to big business to take a good idea and screw it up with rules, regulations, forms, high prices, and small print that leaves the customer standing at the door with their mouth open wondering what just happened. When Best Buy is cheaper, better, faster, and more concerned about their customers computing experience than I am, I'll start to worry. Until then I'll rely on Dell, Gateway, and now Best Buy, along with the rest of the Big Boys to make me look good 
Maybe I'll point my 17 year old with an A+, Server, and Net over there for a job; might be nice to have their mailing list. LOLLOLLOLLOL

| we're not the same! Actually, you cant say all Best Buy techs are idiots. I should know because I'm one of them :P
Every store has their mix of good and bad techs. It seems that most stores have a majority of bad techs. The geek squad was suppose to change how current best buy techs handle computer troubleshooting. From what I hear it was, basically system restores for almost any problem. Our deparment fortunately, has one bad tech while the rest are solid. I was shocked to see one new geek squad tech(DA) that didnt know how to assign manual ips and transfer data via xover cable.
But our store's talent, skill, and experience are reflected in our stats. We're number one in our district, region and maybe in the company as well. We also educate our customers to the best we can though most seem to just nod their heads. Anyways, rant off | |

The Geek Squad has been around for OVER 10 YEARS and were fixing computers long before BBY bought them.
BBY may have a bad rep, but the Geek Squad does not. It appears like they are actually trying to change, er, fix BBY.
The secret service trusted the Geek Squad with their computer and I'm sure that agent knew more than to format the machine. | |
