Comments on news posted 2004-07-21 12:01:36: By putting a name and price-tag on a service most customers won't see for many years, this Verizon press release has the mainstream presses' hearts all a-flutter with the possibilities of "fiber races" and other such broadband revolutions. ..

| 2 1/2 years is acceptable If the turn around time is under 3 years then they will proceed if anything causes the turn around to be longer than forget it. So if NJ wants to force Verizon to sell it lines cheaper than other states the why do the resellers not offer NJ res better discounts in NJ than in states the they pay more for Verizon lines. The answer is simple these cry baby resellers want to be in the business at the expense of the ILEC. If you had a business and someone told you to sell your service so your competitor could undercut your price would you call that fair, would you like it. | |

| Real fiber going up in Montgomery Co. Maryland We'll I'm neither a Verizon cheerleader nor a satisfied customer, but I can say that over the last couple months Verizon's been putting up real fiber on the poles in my suburban neighborhood in Maryland, just outside DC. I talked with the linemen and the schedule they gave was that it should be lit at the end of the year. This is an older neighborhood, so they are doing everything from scratch, piggybacked right onto the old copper. I do live pretty close to a CO, so that probably has something to do with it getting going now, too.
