I've been waiting to hear more "official" news on this ever since one of the ASI/SBC techs mentioned it in a comment on another story. -- Power corrupts. Absolute power is kinda neat. |

1 edit | I think that in California, they don't have much choice.
Check out their competition - DSL extreme is offering that for the same price - SBC requires LD bundling to get their prices

I can get (and probably will get) their 6000/608 with 5 static IP's for $59.99 |

| reply to krobar They better get it right this time. RT users (Expert - 1.5/128) are still on 160kbps sync rate, while CO customers are on 256.
And they were suppose to give the upload increase by the end of the 2nd quarter. -- Who dat? Who dere? |

SBC's most BASIC static IP package runs $55 a month for 300/128 & 5 static IPs...for an extra $5, DSL Extreme puts you on 6000/608 over SBC's own lines!
I'm guessing SBC doesn't want any static IP customers! |

| reply to en102 You must know that DSLextreme is a reseller SBC and Verizon? So, this is a hint ... If DSL extreme going to have that plan, SBC will also have a similar priced plan.
BUT, beware of SBC static IPs, they're sticky IP, not real static. -- Who dat? Who dere? |

@rr.com | BIG DEAL!
My Broadband cable company has been providing higher than that for over a year now! It's easy for DSL customers to get overly excited about nothing, because they have done with so little for so long. NO BIG DEAL! |

I would buy more bandwidth, but I am on a CO and am stuck with what I can get. Don't get me wrong, the $27 a month price point is awesome and I love my DSL. I just wish I could get more bandwidth.
Maybe I will be able to get 384k upstream with the basic plan! -- My Domain Nightfall's Hockey and Life Journal |

Wow that's AWESOME! If you're in California. Unfortunately 2/3rd's (roughly?) of SBC's customers aren't in Cali so that doesn't help us -- Power corrupts. Absolute power is kinda neat. |

Yeah yeah yeah... In Connecticut we've learned that SBC announcing availabilty means we won't get it. We've been told of this since the beginning of the yr, and a lot of folks, esp on RT are STILL stuck @ 128up.
O. Please dont get me started. |

Oh dear Lord!
Now remember these dates all you eager SBC subscribers.
Sept 22, 2004 The Fall Equinox begins. Dec. 22, 2004 The Winter Solstice.
Now I am sorry to be bumming out everyone who is enjoying Summer 2004, but this means the speed U/G can take place any time between 9/22 thru 12/21.
It's really stupid of me to think that this may avoid some of the "Hey I Got The New U/L Speed" posts in the SBC forum. But here comes the BS the likes that has been flung in the Verizon Forum.
Have fun! |

I think I already got this upgrade. I thought it was part of my 3mbit upgrade, but it seems not from this, as well as the phone call from ASI this morning saying they're "fixing" my upload speed. I was at 256 up (for the 1.5mbit plan), so I don't really know what's going on at this point. |
