IF I COULD GET CABLE OR DSL! WTH is with time warner and these other companies...Why dont you spend more money on getting the deployments OUT and less on running your mouth about what you are "about" to give existing customers.

Atleast Comcast responded that ALL of their markets would be upgraded by September. ALL of their markets being the key word.

Charter is not asleep, they are making enough money not upgrading. Paul Allen is enjoying the benefits of milking the cow a little longer. Just like bellsouth, I know it will be years before Bellsouth even thinks about a 5-6 meg level.

I get 3Mb/s down. I can't imagine having to use any more than that. Cable providers continue to raise d/l speeds, but what customers really want is raises in upload speeds.

adelphia just boosted me to 4000 dl and 512k up... however after being on the phone with them for a while i could only get about 3500 or so, but my upload was raised and i upload at about 70ks now, which is just fine by me.. the only excuse she could give me for my dl speeds was that i live in a rather "nice" area.. trying to say that most the people around me have cable as well and thats why my download is slow... but whatever i got a good deal anyway... and the upload makes me happy..

most recent speed test

2958/539 kbps from speak easy..

see.. but oh well still pretty fast...

Yea they did just roll out three megs, which we were the second to last to have three megs. Comcast had three megs almost a half a year before bellsouth released the press release regarding the speed upgrade.

I agree somewhat raised or not I would like to see lower priced tiers and the ability to use some of the upload responsibly, though I am convinced the latter will never happen.

Unfortunately they called it a new tier... not an upgrade, which probably means that it will cost more.
So instead of more for nothing... comcast is more for something.
