What a waste of money and resources. Maybe they could use the money they invest into "Copyright-crusading ferret" into dropping the prices of movies and cd's. -- It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways. |

Perhaps they should bother teaching kids about ALL of what's in Title 17 of the U.S. Code...not just their B.S. propaganda.

Like they can REALLY stop piracy, hell right at this moment 50-60 percent of the Internets traffic is probably someone downloading a movie, game or song.. There is NO possible way they can stop it..
Kazaa, WinMX Irc/Bit-torrent News Groups Ftp servers
they can stop 1, like Kazaa, but then the others will just get bigger and bigger until they just over flow with users... -- Either you know how to use MIRC, or you dont, there is no in between |

I was once a school teacher and if someone came to my class with something like this I would have thrown them out. With all of the things kids need to learn there just isn't time to teach crap like this. The kid wouldn't understand much of it anyway. -- »www.gobpl.com |

I think ferret represents them pretty well. Though a weasel, skunk, cockroach, or dungbeetle might have been better. |

| Check those roles...
So they have the kids play the part of musicians who've sold millions of records and toured non-stop only to discover that they still owe the record company a load of cash due in part to today's equivalent of payola? Oh wait a second, that would be too close to reality. Let's play make-believe role playing instead and role play the artist as downtrodden by the fan instead of the beancounter. They should have gone all the way and just called their mascot what it is - A WEASEL! -- Time is an abstract concept invented by carbon based life forms to monitor their constant decay.-Thunderclese |

2 edits | If they really want to teach kids...
If they really want to teach kids about the music industry, they should go into the classroom and break up half the class into musicians and the other half into six groups, five who while operating as a cartel undercut/screw each other while all of them screw the musicians (workers) out of ownership of their songs and most of their money. The sixth group would be Congress, who take payoffs from the other five groups and then pass special laws that benefit the five groups
Oh wait - the Republicans are already teaching that class...
Never mind..... |

| Should stay out of the classroom
Unless it has to do with actual education, this stuff should not be allowed into the classroom. This isn't about piracy, this is about promoting a companies product. Kids are the BSA's best customers so what better way to promote than in the classroom. Allot of kids already can't do the basics, reading, writing, and math.
The BSA hates P2P and considers it stealing which is rightly so. On the other hand, the BSA sure loves kids to spend there every last cent on one of there games or other software. They know kids have a fascination with new things and they will spend every last dime to get it. The BSA should be teaching kids how to be conscious consumers. |

Actually that would be a good idea.
Though I doubt that kids would fully understand it, at least they would know more.
It would also be good if the person doing the presenting would know enough to answer questions correctly. -- System protected by Impregnable Ignorance (TM) |
