| reply to IllIlIlllIll Give Herbalife at least a bit of credit, they have a real product with some possible nutritional value. This is a real "virtual" scam, nothing but vaporware.
It may be true that there are some "real" profits for a few who get in early on the top of the pyramid. I find it interesting that those people are willing to lie, or let themselves believe, that getting some initial payment is somehow validation that the whole scheme is sound and viable.
This also goes to show that there is a certain percentage of people just too gullible, and another certain percentage of "newbies" who just haven't learned yet, who are not affected by "educational" solutions to problems like this. |

I was thinking of another broadband scam that was exposed and thoroughly deconstructed here on BBR: DSL Monster. The site claimed to be offering free broadband for life, but there were too many fishy things about it, such as parts of the site being copied right from others, and more.
I went searching through the old posts to find this one, and found this (the scammer's site didn't last very long): »Exposing DSL MONSTER -- "Kayura or Badamon, whichever you are, you should know that I will never give up this battle. By the will of the Ancient, I shall succeed!" - Shuten (Anubis) from the Ronin Warriors. |

I can't wait till after Oct 4 as Mr. S. Dixon noted on his post in that thread. I wonder what will happen when all the scammed people start complaining that they aren't getting what they've been promised. Obviously they won't see the 2MB broadband speeds JunkBoost... err JuiceBoosted says they'll get. Then I'd like to see the look on people's faces, like Mr. S. Dixon, when they realize what fools they have been to actually support this crap.
I like making money just as much as the person next to me. But I don't jump into things without doing a little bit of research. Hell, Mr Dixon knew about AOL and Microsoft and broadband. Which would leave us to believe that he at least knows a little bit about how dial-up and xDSL/Cable works.
Tell me Mr. S Dixon... how do you get 2MB out of a 56K line? And don't give me that crap about some super-duper compression bit. When you get your line going Mr S Dixon, why don't you swing on by and register. Then head on over to the Speed Test »/stest area, and post your speeds.
said by JuiceBoosted: "We can STOP your child from chatting to people who pretend to be children in chat rooms by using amazing breakthrough IP filtration and parenthesis technology."
That claim alone should raise a red flag! How is JuiceBoosted going to know whether I'm pretending to be a kid in a chat room from a Dynamic IP addy Mr S Dixon? Hell, I could head on over to the nearest CyberCafe, and go right back in to that same chat room with you kid(s)! How is JuiceBoosted going to know if I'm pretending to be a kid or not Mr S Dixon? How about if my kid (if for example I had any), wanted to chat with your kid, is JuiceBoosted's "breakthrough IP filtration and parenthesis technology" going to see my kid switching places with me?
Anyway, the world will see what happens to JuiceBoosted after October. What a load of horse feces.

I can understand people thinking these will work and you know I hope they don't get burned that badly. The only thing I can't understand is how these people will not stop and even try to circumvent and hide the fact that they are doing this. I look at a site that lets people post and buy things kind of BBS style for free (I'm not going to pimp the site) and it runs ramped there, just about every day you'll see Free Ipod,Flatscreent tv/monitors, and this crap. Not only do they post it but they'll do email me for more info or go to this geocities site and read on it. The mods there barely do their work but thats not the point. These people are clearly trying to avoid detection and they know what they are doing is wrong, Just stop dammit!
What are they afraid to ask their friends and family in person because they know once the get burned they'll hurt them?
Anyway I think the new bulletin board software that has a warn button on every post is getting more and more use these days |

I think there's a whole section of the population at the lower end of the IQ and educational range that you must not have ever had much contact with. I met quite a few in the military, and have had quite a few more work for me over the years. They get scammed this way all the time, and sadly it is some of the ones with the greatest personal honesty and faith in their fellow man who get fleeced the worst and most often.
That said, a lot of the people involved at least have enough intelligence and street smarts that they have to be suppressing the voice that tells them "if it looks too good to be true, it is", and instead are letting themselves be lured by the lure of some sort of "deal". And then there must be those who know it is probably a scam, but hope to be one of the lucky ones who make money by getting in early. |
