| bit slow with all the hype about fiber to the home i was expecting a full 10mbit line for 50 bucks. the whole cap and limit on the 2mbit up is pathetic. why the hell are they offering 15 megs down and only 2 up!!! i thought we all decided we wanted more upload too. symetrical people symetrical. its just one of the saddest deployments of fiber ive ever seen. | |

| Re: bit slow said by UnKown :10mbit line for 50 bucks That is what I have.... Anyway, If there are no caps on the upload, 2mbps is great. Are there caps? | |

| Blah. Not to be blunt but quit whining. Every time I see a post about Fios there is someone talking about how they cannot get that speed and their is mention of drool.
For the money we are giving Iraq and Afghanistan, and the cost of the war, all this could have been done. It could have been a government initiative. Bush does not even have a plan for broadband. The US is going to end up falling behind other countries technologically because of greed. | |

| USA Internet is screwed The Internet in the US is screwed...(sigh) right now only greedy companies own the equipment, and the wires that provide everyone in the us internet access. That is why the internet is slower here than in Japan, and that is why verizon is deploying their fiber network at such "slow" speeds (of course they aren't slow, but I'm comparing it to Japan). There are only two things that will save the internet here in the US. The first thing is if a company buys everyone out and finally starts supplying the speed that everyone deserves, but nobody has enough money to do that. The other thing is if we start a revolution, and put pressure on the major internet suppliers of the US, like verizon. But neither of those are going to happen, so I hope you all like waiting, because when it comes to technology, the US is always going to be many many years behind what we are capable of. | |
