| The beginnings of skynet.... Now they will infest N. Korea's and Iran's computers, and then program them to attack us so George Bush has another reason to go to War....Damn Republicans.
Of course we have stupid americans that think the last 4 years were good and voted for 4 more. Thankfully I can sleep at night knowing I didn't vote for the SOB.

| Makes perfect sense to me. You have to remember the DHS definition of privacy and ours' aren't exactly the same (hell I doubt if they're using the same book).
Somebody with experience in installing spyware will fit right in with that bunch. -- Proud parent of a twelve year old geek. How do you think your honor student got those grades??

| Re Well , you guys shouldn't expect too much with the Bush administration in for 4 more years.
This kind of stupidity and ignorance is a characteristic of this GOP.
This is absolutely ridiculous and you can be sure that i will protest against that nomination.

| Why Freeman?? A interesting Freeman quote from a July, 2004 Article...see the link below for the entire article.
"Why [is behavioral marketing hot again]? Because consumers are complaining," he said. "When consumers complain, law enforcement follows."

I'm sorry but I smell a rat. This guy was a partner in a Washington, DC law firm. Now, he lands a position in Homeland Security where he can "follow up " on his July 2004 quote...when consumers (you & I) complain, he now not only hears our complaints but will play a major part in establishing & enforcing "laws" to accommodate his sleazy Crapware vendor friends & back the anti-spyware firms into a legal corner.

| Well... What can I say... At least somebody wins out of this one, right? Too bad it's not us. Now that D. Reed Freeman has ultimate voice (under Patriots Act), he'll be able to use it to further benefit his company, by routing misc gov contracts toward Claria Corp. So in a way, we'll be funding developers of Spyware Apps with our money. Claria Corp. will use new influx of money and knowledge to further push "improvements" onto their domestic applications (such as Gator) to increase their public penetration for further increase in their financial gains... Lovely, isn't it? | |

Call something one thing (like integrity, or environmental policy), and then turn around and do exactly the opposite, as long as it benefits business at the expense of the American people?
