| HOA's Every time I hear about an HOA it makes me cringe. I couldn't imagine someone( other then the government...and that's' bad enough) telling me what or how to do something with my house.
And I don't care how many times people say they didn't have a choice. You always have a choice. If you want that house in that neighborhood with that HOA, then you need to follow their rules. So quit your bitching, you signed the contract. Nobody held you at gunpoint.
If people stop buying houses with HOA's, developers will stop forming them. The market always dictates. -- GNOSWAL,Comcast,Linksys WRT54G,Vonage,Networked Tivo,Laptop on Wireless "Things involving the computer fill me with a childlike terror. | 100Mbps Fiber? What about when you have smart people doing this? That's the case with a few people I know, that are starting their own private telco that will have fiber running to each home for cable TV, phone, and internet.

| Developers Sell Monopolies, Taxing Their Subjects
Someone posted a similar story on an email list of mine, so the problems aren't limited to developers selling monopolies to ISPs. -- Concerned Homeownershttp://members.cox.net/concernedhomeowners/

| Re: Developers Sell Monopolies, Taxing Their Subjects Adelphia paid 65k to my HOA (when the developer controlled it) for the right to provide cable to us for 10 years. Luckly, I have the option of using BrightHouse cable and roadrunner.
I tried Adelphia internet but dial up was faster. in one week I had 3 different techs.
Hopefully, who ever gets Adelphia in FL will improve the service.
Only 7 more years left of Adelphia.
90% if my HOA dues is a result of a greedy developer taking a bribe from a soon to be default company.
