Comments on news posted 2005-03-27 10:57:38: The Sony PSP (competitor to gameboy, with extra features) comes with WiFi connectivity built in. But no web browser. There has been much speculation as to whether or not Sony plan to bless the sleek device with wireless internet capabilities. ..

Very cool.

I thought you would need a FW upgrade and this USB keyboard to get on the web. So this is great news.

cool

This is cool, but it looks like alot of work to set up your own dns bindings and such to make it go where you want.

yeah it is totally useless, but I thought it was at least interesting to see a website on the screen. I guess they or someone will release a decent internet suite on it sooner or later. Perhaps one that can be stored on the memory stick instead of a UMD.

Re: why

Perhaps of having the damn thing hacked to the back of beyond, but if they were that concerned, it wouldn't accept a memory stick.

Well it's a no-brainer why it has a memory stick. But it's not like they can honestly believe it won't be hacked. Hell I wouldn't buy a game system that couldn't be hacked... who the hell wants to pay 50$ a pop for games?

 Why?

I have absolutely no interest in gadgets like this one. Why people buy them is beyond me.
Kids buying them, I can understand that but young adults and older people I really can't. Considering it's price tag I don't think Sony is targeting kids.

yeah really it only costs 2x as much as a freaking xbox!
this is probally just sonys way of getting in on the portable market, and/or something to make money before the ps3 comes out
lcd screens might be cool, and black plastic might be also but i cant justify $300 for plastic! it better make movies, take pictures, pick up tv stations, and start your car remotely before i would even consider it for that much

Re: why

So you'll only buy a game system where you can pirate games on it? That's pretty lame.

$50 hmmm I don't know, But If the Games were good enough challenging, Yet not impossible to play by non 10 year olds and cost $30 to $40, A web browser should be included though, as It seems like natural fit.

Of course It's the Dollar sign in front of the Amount and not to right of the Amount, Only the Cent sign goes to the Right of the Amount.

Maybe they didn't have time to test and implement it. Apparently they really rushed a lot of units to the US, and consequently a lot of defects have been revealed (dead pixels etc).
