Nice.

So, they'll get fine, craft will get surplussed for management mistakes, and life will go back to uncertain.

Or, they'll get fined, there will be more fees added to customer's bills that will stay forever and they will make up that fine and billions more to put in their pockets...

Hmmmmm.....

I find it (honestly I do), incredibly amazing that they would tell such blatant lies and they aren't even trying to pretend or hide behind something (other than the lies of course).

A criminal by any other name...

...shall stink just the same. They are criminals. Plain and simple. The criminal intent is there. Money speaks, sings, and screams in the hands of those who have it.

Cingular is in the hands of criminals, now. Watch what will happen to them in the next year or two as they allow the crooks who ran AT&T Wireless into bankruptcy make the decisions for them now.

The only people who benefit in today's world are those who have their mattresses stuffed with cash from fleecing us little people. All this so the top few percent can have multi-million dollar retirement benefits while the rest of us will have to rely on a dwindling social security system and plundered bank accounts.

Re: Hmmmmm.....

There was a time when I found this amazing, too. Then I dealt with the RBOCs for a few years, and realized that they get away with it all the time, so why not expect them to do it?

Disappointment After Disappointment.....

I've used Bellsouth DSL for the past 6, almost 7, years and have had only one problem. Lightning once fried my modem. They replaced it for free that same day I called!:)
I have no personal problems with the company, but after all these stories I have read here in the past 6 months, I may be cancelling my services altogether and getting everything (including phone service) thru the cable company.

Re: Hmmmmm.....

They have behaved badly over and over again with no consequences. The "deep pockets" twist things in their ads about muni ventures just enough to make them seem like they never succeed, and print them over and over again until they hope the voters will believe them (like in the TriCities and in the upcoming election in Lafayette).

I would also expect the RBOCs to promise they will bring new technology to you as well whenever a muni build is proposed. They are always promising that, then all that is delivered is a price increase. It is insulting really.

Good move on your part but switching to your cable provider is aken to jumping out of a frying pan only to realize that your new home is just another frying pan by another name.

Before you make your decision, just be sure to realize just how biased the reporting and comments are around here. It used to be better, but you'll notice a common thread of bashing anything even remotely related to incumbents. A few years ago I used to really value the info here, but now I mostly read it for comic relief (especially anything written by Karl Bode.)

Incumbents surely aren't perfect, but it almost seems like people around here think the "little guy" provides service out of the goodness of his heart. In reality, the CLECs and small VOIP providers in the world would all use big-company tactics in a heartbeat if they had that power. It's about profit for everyone. Get used to it and go with the provider that gives you the best service - large or small.

I would rather deal with one criminal "the government" thats suppose to be tale care of my bests interests than a company that is taking care of its wallet.

This is still going on? I've been gone for a very long time, and when I come back, I find that the whole Lafayette thing is still raging on I see...

I was suggesting that they'll just reduce service technicians in Louisiana.

You have a very good point here. I will consider it as one strike out of three.

Stay with your provider based on your own personal exp. If the price is fair and the service good stay. I promise you that you will be able to find dirt on what ever company you move to.

Corps are greedy by their nature. Greed drives are economy good or bad. A business that is for anything above proffit is not a business.

Re: This is still going on???

It is actually just gearing up again due to their election July 16th. The "onslaught" from the incumbents has begun with their push polls, and I predict will gear up within the next two weeks in introducing the rest of their campaigns leading up to July 16th. The final 2 weeks before the election should be very ugly....
