Yeah and that's by end of June...

.....Sprint's deployment will happen faster and be a lot smoother because they know what they are doing.

No!

I think SprintPCS should spend ALL available resources on improving its abysmal customer service.

There are more detailed Sprint schedules floating around too, see:

The real proof, is what is available when. I called Sprint yesterday to find out when my city was going to get Sprint EVDO and they told me to do a search on Yahoo, they didn't have anything official.

It will get VERY interesting after Sprint and Verizon go head to head in certain key markets.

We are tracking Sprint EVDO at:

Didn't they outsource it to IBM or something?

Agreed... they are lacking in the personnel infrastructure department. Our company had close to three-hundred phones with them, but canceled because of poor coverage and next to no support base for the users. You would think that with that many users in one company, they would treat you a little better.

No Dice.

Cingular TREATS us great, just has poor coverage and/or quality.

They need to spend some money on towers. I live in a moderately populated area of town and their phones go from 0 bars to no service when the user is standing outside.

Too much and not enough

Bleh. I, for one, will not pay more for slower speeds on my phone than I do for access on my computer...although my city won't be covered anyway, at least not yet, so this is all actually moot, but I'll blab my opinion anyway.

People say, "Well you can use it for wireless laptop access". At what cost? Isn't it something well over $100 total to have EV-DO and have it allowed to be used with a computer? That's a ridiculous amount to pay on top of your regular wireless bill.

I have Vision on two phones now and it's silly for what I pay as it is. I do enjoy The Onion on my phone but that's about it. LoL

Seriously, I just can't imagine paying close to/over $200 a month for wireless internet for our two phones (my husband's as well as mine.) Do people really fork out this kind of dough for such a meager offering?

For business travelers, traveling salespeople, service people on the go, etc., it really pays for itself ($80/month). For consumers - the price is still high for most.

I travel quite frequently for my business; however, I find that there are more cost effective alternatives to accomplish the same end. As far as the $80 price tag, I'm under the impression that that covers only access via one's phone and not laptop connectivity as well.

Nar, it's $15/month for just the phone access (on Verizon) but $79/month if you want PC card access, which is what you'd use for laptop connectivity.

Ah. I see. That's still a little pricey but not as bad as I'd thought.

I'm not holding my breath for Sprint to do any better if it ever comes my way. Oh well.

I work at a Sprint Vendor site

Yes, the customer service sucks.
No, the tech support doesnt suck as bad.
Yes, we're undertrained
Yes we ask for training.
No, they wont provide it for us.
Yes, its overpriced. $.01 a KB if you go over your data plan? Thats highway robbery
Sprint doesnt have any EVDO phones. We just have aircards right now.

I hate stupid people who have more phone than they have brains. Some tards with Windows Pocket PCs dont have the brains to operate the simplest Nokia.

Oh, and now we can get written up for "slang" if we call a cellular phone a "cellular phone." The highest thought processes arent at the top of the company, thats for sure.

Sprint Customer service is ok, it could be alot better but it isnt. It total Sucks when you get someone in idea or stupid rep.

Sprint Tech Support absalutely wonderful , the hardest part is getting to them digging through the menu or saying the right words to convince claire(sprint viritual assitant)to connect you.

Sprint Coverage , it cant top verizon, verizon has the best coverage out there but its 1000 times better than nextel(sprintel in a few months) 100 times better than cingular(even with more bars in more places) and still is better than tmobile.

Data Service 15 bucks a month for unlimited data on my ppc 6600 priceless, if i need to 40 bucks extra and i can use my ppc 6600 as a evdo (when they launch it) modem for my laptop. Tmobile sidekick sucks compared to my phone and wanted 20 bucks for unlimited data (limited by the sidekick).

Sprint fair and flexible plan is the best ive seen in a long time for people who have light and heavy usage as the months change.

Overall i think sprint is a great phone company , they get low marks for their customer service but alot of the time you dont even have to call customer service.

(all this has been my personal experience dealing with sprint/verizon/nextel/cingular/tmobile.)
