Easiest thing to do.......

The easiest thing to do is drop the service. When enough customers drop the service then Tivo will either change it's business practice or they will go under. It's as simple as that.

I believe the only reason why Tivo is using these pop ups, cause it was one way to settle the broadcasters complaints about copyrights. Allowing a person to skip through a commercial is a big no no. Just like going to the bathroom during a commercial is a no no.

God...

Is it me or are the majority of people on this site paranoid? I'm willing to bet that many of you haven't even seen the screenshot of the "ad". TiVo is a luxury. Period. You don't have to have it. If your principles were violated then cancel your service. It's not that hard. Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. I love my TiVo service and as long as they're around I'll continue to have my TiVo. In fact I'm buying two more standalones and one more DirecTiVo. Some people need to stop bitching and act on things. I'm tired of all these "all talk" people. Nobody is forcing you to keep your TiVo service, and if you choose to leave... don't let the door hit you.

Aren't Tivo's a subscription service?

I thought Tivo's were a subscriptions service (to handle the "what's on" and such).

If that is the case, putting ads in is retarded. I mean their subscribers are paying to get ads?
