I guess some exec. want there job when TW and Comcast take over. I would hate to have service for 16mbps and when comcast or Tw came in jump down to 5 or 8 and a 368k to 768 k upload thats where they are now. |

With most routers now sporting only a 10mb WAN port, what does this speed mean for these people? If you have your computer directly connected to the modem you might realize the full speed as you probably have a 100mb NIC installed in the computer. Next how many cable modems now come with a 10/100mb Ethernet Port?

Adelphia- Buffalo is always late especially with technical knowledge and know-how or nohow for Adelphia's Engineering Department in the WNY Buffalo area that doesn't have ANY people with any Engineering Degree's period! They are all just barely technicians with NO formal education! Talk about stupid people that dare to call themselves engineers! GET AN EDUCATION AND DEGREE FIRST PLEASE, BEFORE USING THE WORD ENGINEER! Granted they are all trying but just do not have any expertise or know how! This is truely demonstrated by the recent ongoing problem I and many others are having with UHF Channel 29 WUTV, Adelphia cable channel 6 which I keep calling about with no resolution. I am trying to watch a baseball game this Saturday afternoon (Chicago vs NYM) with serious ghosting. There are almost 2 players for every one on my 52 inch screen! Direct pickup, no sorry (Adelphia almost Technical Department), no local channel transmitting on channel VHF channel6! VSWR problem - NO, problem with my wiring or television, no, technician has same problem at "tap" and also at his house so he states.! DAMN IT I WANT IT FIXED TODAY YOU IDIOTS in Buffalo or Lancaster! I have even seen this same problem at your Maple Road payment Office while paying my bill and have asked about it with a response " that's the way it is everywhere" SORRY, WRONG ANSWER - JUST BECAUSE IT IS EVERYWHERE DOESN'T MEAN THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM. WAKE UP ADELPHIA HALF ASSED TECHNICIANS - IT MEANS THE PROBLEM IS EVERYWHERE. FIX YOUR ANTENNA (IN LACK(OF KNOWLEDGE)A - WANTA) YOU IDIOTS IF YOU CAN) - AT YOUR RECEIVE LOCATION TO PREVENT THIS!!!!!! GET UP OFF YOUR LAZY FAT ASSES AND FIX IT DAMN IT! THIS IS ONLY ONE OF MANY REASONS WHY I THINK THE PRESENT ADELPHIA STAFF, AREA VP OF OPERATIONS MANAGER, GENERAL MANAGER, FAKE ENGINEERING MANAGERS AND/OR DIRECTORS SHOULD ALL BE FIRED - FAILURE TO RECOGNIZE AND RESOLVE PROBLEMS IN A TIMELY MANNER!!!!! From what the people in my local office have said, as well as the tech who came and did my install, those who are currently with Adelphia will still have their Adelphia speeds/services. Anyone who signs up in what used to be an Adelphia area with either Comcast or TWC will be their customers and will be put on their speeds.
Here's to hoping that Adelphia pushes out 16/2 to the NC area.

Don't have to worry about it. The nodes aren't going to handle that as there is only about 40 megabits on each one. Once you get a few customers on there using that bandwidth performance is going to go into the toilet. Let's see what really happens before everyone gets all excited. The cablecos are trying to compete with FIOD via marketing and not superior networks.

Cable companies can do it if they get rid of there analog channels 2 thru 99 and run a all digital system. 2 thru 99 takes up alot of the spectrum. Buy the time that happens there "might" be something better on the cable networks then the Docsis.
Only problem with the upgrading the docsis, they have to string up more fiber and more nodes. This depends on how the plant was build,design,and layout tho. |
