This is cellular service, how are cellular phone's going to start a broadband war? And since the online store is a "music store", not a "download everything including quake4 store", so I fail to see how this will start the broadband war.

So What!

Quadruple Play?

We'll see. Unless this "deal" lowers my currnet prices on my PCS and cable/HSI bill, it's all bull$*!t, IMO.

Never had a problem with thier customer service TBH. But what company hasn't both side of the fences said about them. And my celluar, while I dont like this 2 year contract thing, never had any major problems with it either.

4 for more..

this is insanity.. why do all these Mega-corps think that by bundling everything together, we, the consumer, will even want it? personally I prefer seperate companies, of my choice, providing me my needed services...

also I wonder how this will affect corp/business Nextel users (we're suppose to be migrated to the Sprint network in a few years)

Credit Checks

So does this mean cable cos will now be doing credit checks on all new customers to see if they qualify fro the quadruple play or only if you buy cellular service from them? In addition can you buy only cellular service from them instead of in a bundle? This will be very interesting when the details of how they will offer it comes out.

Yeah!! Why the hell would they want to give you the option of bundling your cell phone with your other bills!! They're freaking idiots I know!! Quick, send them an email telling them you don't want to have that option available to you!! Insanity I tell you!!

Its been proven time and time again that if the normal average consumer can save 10, 20 or 30 bucks a month by bundling, most will do it. Of course, like you said, you prefer seperate companies. Thats the beauty of it- you have a choice. You no wanty bundle? You no have to have. For those that enjoy saving money if a bundle is good for them, more power to them.

On the flip side, companies love the bundle because customers are more likely to be loyal and not 'churn' to the next great promotion by a rival.

Hmmm...

"For itself, Sprint has repeatedly commented it is eager to introduce dual-mode telephone technology which combines cellular phone service with Wi-Fi data capabilities. Phones using both technologies could utilize traditional cellular communications while users are mobile, but route voice and other phone services through a subscriber's broadband Internet connection at home, or through a Wi-Fi connection available on a subscriber's notebook computer, other digital device, or compatible service. The result would be a digital phone while the subscriber has Wi-Fi Internet access, and a traditional cellular phone when the user is away from Wi-Fi services."

This may be it! With this, I may just finally get a cel... and it will say Comcast on it!

to paraphrase Cod...

4-play or naked cable; you can have anything you want!

Yeah! The WiFi part sounds great to me! All I do here is WiFi!

Plus, I have three different cell repeaters within view.
