2 edits | Hotmail issue fixed yesterday
As far as I can determine the issue went away yesterday when outbound msgs to Hotmail users were again being accepted by Comcast servers. Whether this was because Hotmail fixed their problem or merely circumvented it for now, I can't say. But people I know on Hotmail accounts did receive their msgs.

| Oh the irony!
I love that the same company that creates software that makes the virus easy to spread is the victim of the latest virus.
This is not at all surprising, hotmail/msn is always about 3 steps behind in handling the volume of email that they receive since converting the entire system to Windows. One of my clients deals with large volumes of mail, and Hotmail is always, always problematic. They simply don't have the infrastructure to handle it and/or they have chosen the wrong platform for email services... |

How long did it take MS to admit that there was a problem? Funny, but I don't see all those people in the last couple threads that were sure that it had to be a Comcast problem... Comcast admitted that there was a problem within 24 hours of it being detected, and told people the steps were being taken to help MS out, but all those people were saying that Comcast was lying, and that it could not be a MS problem (I guess they think MS's track record is sooooo good) It took MS about 4 days....yet there is no one questioning that??? |

| I think this sums it up
This poster sums it up:
""Plus, if Hotmail was hit by a virus (read: infected and not just a standard, cliched DOS/filter attack), why hasn't the news picked up on this? You know how it's the popular thing to bash MS nowadays"
Not quite as popular as the whining on here about Comcast. Boo friggin Hoo.
This is a microsoft issue. When and if it comes out, you all will be eating your words.
Make due. Get a free webmail account for backup."
Where is all the bashers now? Oh, they must be emailing. -- "I went to the park and saw a kid flying a kite. The kid was really excited. I don't know why, that's what they're supposed to do. Now if he had a chair on the other end of that string, I would have been impressed." -M.H. |

They're BOTH beta, Google is just more honest about it.
I *do* take issue with products that are "beta" for all time, as it appears Gmail will be. At that point the company is simply foisting off a product that is making money for them while taking no responsibility for flaws in said product. -- Salus Populi Suprema Est Lex-Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC) |

No, it's not just you. I've been having the same problem since 11/30. I was on the phone with at least 6 support people yesterday and they finally admitted that there was a worm / hotmail / MSN mail problem.
I wasted 5 hours last night on this thinking it was my computer based on their sage advice.. |
