So...

though 90 percent of them charge a fee

In other news, people are still trying to make money.

Ahh, it would be so nice for more free Wi-fi.

WiFi + Free = Not Dead

WiFi will always be around as long as it is free. In fact, we set up a WiFi hotspot in our community in Franklin, TN.

That site is great. That's where I found out that my local public library has free wifi. Went over there, sat down and was up and running in seconds, never had to ask anyone or enter any info.

Re: Nostradamus?

This would be an example of sarcasm, such as calling an idiot "Einstein".

Are you calling me an idiot buddy, well thank you?!

Wireless and fiber to the homey are the future of the humble internet connection!

On the down loc,

Maybe if you live in the Right wing down of Westchester county where all open wifi's are illegal, and the govt will track you down and 'arrest you', 'sue you' and '187 on an undercover wifi'
Yeah, maybe 3g and wimax will work,
For the rest of you, Bah humbug!

Wimax and 3g making a comeback is like OJ simpson winning another superbowl, or the democrats joining the kkk, and other unlikely things.

Which is not to say if you'd give the equipment and internet bacbone services away FREE it couldn't happen, just Wery, Wery Unlikely
