Its great that we have members helping out but shouldn't the FBI doing this too? One would think they would have the resources to also get this shut down asap. -- NYC Pagans | NYC Pagan Resource |

If you told the FBI, 6 months later they would pickup the case, 1 year later arrest the guy after he's finished his "work" |

please don't let someone in Hollywood think they can make a 2 hour movie of this. I would love the public to get educated but not by the embellishing, truth-distortion machine that cranks out "Oscar-nominated Stamp of rental worthiness".

There already was a book written years ago, the first one that I'm aware of called the "Cuckoo's Egg" written by Cliff Stoll. The book was interesting at the time, granted it is quite dated based upon today's computer technology.
Also as I recall Stoll was, shall I say, a "unique" individual.
Oh and don't miss his cookie recipie in the middle of the book. -- It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine |

| reply to PA23 Yes, I have his book. And the yummy cchip recipe. (It's still a good read, albeit dated...TTY.)
I just think that our email users of today aren't keen on why they get this stuff.
I even get miffed when I use google (and it gives me UK searches...I am not in the UK!) and some links try to push a trojan on me.

These cyber crimes are now an epidemic, and it will get a lot worse. Only the big fish get any attention from law enforcement. Unfortunately criminals know that their chances of being caught are negligible. Even criminals within our juristiction have little to worry about. Despite having turned over prima facia evidence of over a $150,000 cyber crime to the feds, that led to the front door of this California couple. Six months later they are still out there enjoying the fruits of their crimes.

Dude, you need to chill and stop being anal retentive about what is being written, try to focus on what is being said. It looks like you need some self awareness. Lol, self learned, that has to be the stupidest term for teaching yourself something. Go back to grammar school. It is used, it is correct, and it makes sense so go back to your circle jerk. |

The FBI doesn't have to arrest anyone to get involved. If the crime occurs here, as in the Bank of America, the FBI can issue an arrest warrant and confer with foreign government to either extradite (if there's treaty) or investigate and wait for more information on what's going on in order to try to put a stop to the crime.
The foreign government can also move to shut down an illegal operation and jail the perp. So the FBI getting involved is very possible instead of sitting back and doing nothing and telling people to think before typing, which someone, it looks like, hasn't done |
