If he is so talented

If your so damn talented why don't you get a proper way to show off your skills not commit crimes. Crime gets you NOWHERE in the IT field it just shuts doors.

Good Luck I hope you get out before you get caught and make somthing out of yourself. If you continue down the raod that you are on you will indeed fail and end up working @ a dead end job.

Not always. I worked for two different companies who lured hackers into working for them by means of "honey pots".

pretend to hire him

If I were the FBI, I'd set this punk up by pretending to be a company that's interested in hiring him. During the discussion when talking about experience, get him to admit that he did the phishing scam. Then nail his ass.

Hmm.....

How is it that the guy found MGD See Profile? I thought he was using a untraceable account? If this is truly a legit post then perhaps this kid deserves a little more credit for tracking him down? (Don't get me wrong, he's still a worthless p.o.s.)

Re: If he is so talented

His bad english seems more of a spoof than anything to just deceive more. It's too perfectly crafted in a "wrong" way. My guess is he's not where it's thought he was tracked down to, he just has control of a pc there and uses it remotely.

Stupid

Congrats BBR, you just gave this guy what he wanted most -- exposure. Why do you think he was Googling it in the first place? He actively WANTS to be associated with it. He wants a rep.

Why not just let the illiterate fool rot in obscurity, which is precisely what would drive him the most insane?

Re: Hmm.....

Maybe someone else here took it upon themselves to contact him and point it out that he has been exposed on DSLreports...?

or maybe he just googled his username...

Re: Stupid

So give him the exposure, makes it even more likely he will be caught. Then he can rot with the limelight behind bars.

So you think his scam should have been ignored? I see where you are coming from and it does have merit, but I think what the people who busted them are doing has more merit.

Actually, I doubt that scammers want exposure. They would prefer to operate in the shadows under the radar of law enforcement and the public consciousness. As long as they do that, they can fool people into thinking that their sites are legit and they can continue to scam money from the hapless users. The minute that their scams are brought to light, pressure increases from law enforcement and, more damaging to them, it becomes harder to fool people. The more attention their scams get, the more people will be on the lookout for them and the less people will fall for them.

This guy claims that his aim is to eventually get a job in IT, but no (legitimate) company that I know of would risk the bad PR of hiring a known crook like this. So go ahead and publicize this guy's scams. It'll ruin his scams now and ruin his chances of parlaying them into an IT job later.

I believe he was pointed to the thread after the story was posted, Either by email or his Yahoo IM id that was listed.

There wasn't much on Google at the time he posted, and he did not have much of a reason to search it.

I also believe that he was/is at the cafe, as his emails came from more than one IP in the range.

I believe the publicity is beneficial, he was been doing this for a while, and he maybe part of a group. The chances of phishers being charged by law enforcement is remote at best, and maybe the publicity will hasten his demise.

How can anyone be sure this isn't another dslreports member screwing around and acting like he is the hacker?
