| RCN resorts to low life tactics
Figures RCN would do that rather than improve the quality of its network!
That is so typical of RCN.
RCN can steal some flyers, but RCN can't match Verizon's marketting muscle. It cant afford it.
RCN knows they are going down and fast too. |

| How about this?
Instead of spending resources to block the competition (whether they involve stealing pamphlets or buying politicians), these companies could divert a ton of money into infrastructure upgrades and enhanced services. Verizon seems to be the only one going that direction. |

grandpinaple: Yeah but the most important part was look who was doing it: RCN! If I had to guess I KNEW IT WOULD BE THEM just like they have shills as well.
This only proves what Ive been saying all along!
RCN is a bad bad bad company that resorts to low life tactics. Verizon also does some bad things, can't leave them out such as charging for Installation on FIOS installed said to be free.
When is there going to be honesty in communications? We all need broadband but noone wants to be honest and play by the rules.
If you don't want to be honest, then I don't need what you are offering! |

| No surprise here!
Most cable companies do NOT want any competition, so this does not surprise me in the least... Right now most cable companies enjoy near monopoly status in the neighborhoods they serve, and will do anything to keep out competitors, even going so far as to have roof mounted satellite dishes ruled illegal... (It failed, in my area) They even put up ads that are blatantly false when it come to reception via satellite dishes during rain, which we have all seen... FIOS offers an next gen approach to feeding data, TV, phone, etc to a person's house, a direct competitor to cables little domain. The future holds hope for all of us with competition.. -- Warning, I have one poster on my radar, who has a problem if your opinion disagrees with theirs.RIAA... Bite me!!!! |

| So funny it seems unreal.
That has got to be a joke right. So cable employees are going to start pulling stunts with FIOS just like they did with Dish and Directv when they first began taking off. -- "Sir SIR! We don't use DHCP servers. We only use IBM & Microsoft servers." From there my call to tech support went steadily downhill. |

Well,
My buddy is being laid off from RCN. And they told him this 6 months ago. And he is still working for them. And putting in more hours.
"who's more the fool: the fool or the fool following the fool?"
He doesn't drive a black car, btw.
Makes you think about those postal workers that keep the mail... |

Did your buddy at RCN get a raise or overtime pay or is he just working more hours for the same pay to keep his job? |

| Maybe
Cable companies maybe pulling stunts like this, but if the bells start going forward with their extortion tactics then I will stick with the cable company provided they don't do the same low life tactics the bells are doing. I would rather pay ten dollars more for unfiltered access through a slightly worse pipe than $55 a month for 30/5, in which the carrying medium was paid for by extortion. |

| How is this illegal
I fail to understand why this is illegal. the pamphlets were left on a doorstep, and someone took them. If someone broke into a car to get the pamphlets, then I see the issue.
Everyone is in business to eliminate the competitor. If it was you and some yahoo was going around leaving your competitor's pamphlets at doorsteps, I doubt that you wouldn't grab them either. |

Paid for by extortion? The cable companies are the ones that cap the internet; the phone companies offer unlimited internet access. |
