Love AMD
I just bought an AMD 64 chip. I'm never going back to Intel.
However, maybe Skype was thinking that the AMD chips were running on XP Starter OS packs. Don't those limit you to a max of 3 apps running at once? lol

I guess being on a Ventrilo server (or TS if your a cheapo  ) with 20 people talking in a channel (theoretically) is gonna kill my processor and require a limit of 5 people per channel. Damn you AMD!  |

ROFLAMO...  I have yet to see *ANY* dual core Intel chip which has at least the same power like my AMD... it's not an accident when Opteron arrived, we dropped Xeons forever and we kept buying Opteron nodes for our renderfarm, workstations, everywhere - we constantly evaluate Xeons (incl latest ones) and they are simply less powerful than their Opteron counterparts. |

Why else would you be upset that AMD is trying to keep Intel from marginalizing its products through unfair licensing agreements, anti-competitive business practices, and FUD marketing techniques? If the AMD suit didn't pass muster from a legal standpoint, the court would have granted Intel's requests that the suit be vacated/dismissed, which it has not.
We have courts so the law can be enforced. The bigger the offense, or the offender, the longer, louder, messier and more disruptive the pursuit of justice. Better than guns in the street, or no choice in the marketplace.

So this begs the question why is AMD suing Intel and not Skype for slander or something. If Skype wants to make a small feature of their client running only on an Intel processor who cares? There are plenty of other soft VoIP clients around that actually use open standard codecs so you are not tied to a particular company. I think all of this is silly. I also think AMD is jealous because their marketing and strategy departments have failed to place their product, take a larger market share, and hell, make some exclusive deals with say GTA San Andreas or something  |

I love it! AMD has NteL's cajonez in hand and squeezin' it silly! I love it cause NteL had not have a breakthru technology in buncha years. Now if only AMD expanded more on other chips to make itself more beautiful than it would really put NteL in a position to make it belly up.
AMD's HyperTransport is the AMD's ACE in the pocket that many do not see. everyone thinks AMD is just Opteron and AMD64 chips. oh I wish I had an ACE like that everytime I played Poker! |
