Tin foil hat time?

Or maybe aluminium? Until there's some scientific evidence, I'm feeling pretty safe...

Nutjobs

"Cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors - there's a lot of stuff that has used this spectrum for a long time," says Dave Dobbin, president of project planners Toronto Hydro Telecom. "If something concrete comes along and says this is bad, we will take immediate action at that time."
I agree with that but conspiracy nuts can stay away from baby monitors and not have remote garage doors or cell phones. They cant stay away from WIFI though. Not without cost.

wifi is bad for your health

yes wifi and cordless phones including cell phones are bad for your health. All this device should be restricted if not banned. Car garage sends signal for 1mil of sec and is not dangerous

why wi-fi?

the number of household devices that operate using very similar, if not the SAME technology is staggering... why make Wi-Fi be the whipping boy?

i bet the same people that are lobbying against this, have cordless phones, microwaves, cell phones... you name it...

they are just uninformed, backwater morons... they don't understand what Wi-Fi is, so it must be bad.

Bells to follow now

Wow why didn't the Bells think of that long ago. "WiFi will cause your children brain damage!" That would be much more effective at eliminating competition in the wireless arena than anything else. Heck they could probably eliminate small WISP's with pretty little effort.

Just because something has no logical backing doesn't mean people wont buy into it. People don't want to exercise their minds, or use reason/login to find truth.

That's what those politician, and lawyer people do. Not us.

Re: Mobile Faraday cage, check!

The glass doesn't block much though, except for maybe UV rays.

Even if they did ban it in the schools, WiFI will probably also be transmitted from somewhere else nearby!

Honestly people should be more concerned about the pollution that their cars put out! I guess they enjoy that smell of exhaust. Must think its ok to breathe in!

riiiiight

hahaha. amusing!

I have to agree with the general consensus here myself. I feel pretty safe to use my cordless phones, cellphone, and yeah, WiFi.

Things like this never cease to amuse me

Aluminum foil hats for anyone?

What about cell phones and cell phone towers, CRT TVs, Cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors...

I understand that RF radiation can sometimes be an issue... but Wifi is a drop in the bucket. They should just re-paint their walls and ceilings in aluminum paint or have the exterior of the house insulated with aluminum foil... Even better make aluminum foil hats!

Nutjobs.
While I agree about some items, you have to admit that they cannot get away from radio transmissions, cell towers, or how about all the radio frequencies that they are being bombarded with from satellites.. I know the signals are low but they are still there.. So maybe we shoue get rid of them all..

What a bunch of total horse shia't. We have been living in a world of RF fields all of our lives. You have Hamradio operators who have been soaked in such EMF for nearly a 100 years, except for problems with RF induced fevers in the late 1920's there has been no problems. The only documented problem I am aware of with RF fields in the frequencies used by the devices mentioned here is USN sailors who worked on ship board radars in the 50's and 60's developing cataracts years after the fact this because the equipment of the time was not shielded that well and the power levels where thousands of time higher.

Low voltage Tech's are wimps, Real tech's use 45 pound filament transformers, plate voltages no less then 2400 volts with at least 10 amp's lighting 8877 triodes...BPL I'm coming to get you.

Exactly ! Why worry about waves when there is so much more to worry about! Hell look at the pollution all the people throw in rivers ! Or what comes out of the big companies when they burn fuel to produce heat or to manufacture.

What a bunch of BS!

In the US alone i haven't heard of a case of WiFi Health risks at all, hell you go to a McDonald's and Wifi is installed as you munch on your burger! i think some canucks up there is taking the issue too far out of hand, don't get me wrong i am sure there could be some device that may be out of their respected spectrum and out of safe levels but that can't be based on that ALL RFI/EMI or other devices is the same. other wise, get rid of satellite's in space, cell phone towers, satellite's dishes, and cell phones and cordless phone and go back to the stone age!

I can use my cordless phone half way down the street. I can also walk down the sidewalk with my cell phone and I can point and use my garage door opener at anyone. You can't stay away from these radio waves from any device.

I'm not. Some of those people are radiating a dangerously pervasive field of stupidity and I really don't want to be exposed to it.
