30 websites can be visited free of charge. Full access for $29 a month or $4.25 an hour.

Like you said if they provide decent speed's and coverage why not?
These citywide WiFi networks are mostly targeted for to outsider's or a way for the state to earn profits from visitors who use there networks. That way they can use that money to fund more public projects.
If the service is free then awesome if I just need in to put some extra cash sure, but if I need to put in a good amount of cash for something that's not worth it then no.
It's like going to the store and see something you want, but the price tag is 40 dollars. You figured it's not worth it, so you just walk past it and don't buy it. Simple as that.
A cooperation which has money to spare and actually uses it to benefit users instead of there own cooperate needs is a gift. Not something you deserve. I sure hope most people will remember that. | |

While the network covers some great places in Scottsdale I don't feel that it's a justifiable price. The only times I was ever in downtown Scottsdale were for drinking or food. If you were to frequent cafes and coffee shops it might be worth it. It's nice that it's available but I can't imagine someone who doesn't live in the area or work there subscribing. | |

Phoenix, AZ | Too Expensive I drive all over town installing camera/security systems and it would be nice to be able to login at lunch to check emails and such, but I don't spend that much time in the small part of Scottsdale to justify that cost.
Now if I worked at an office in that area and wanted to surf the net during lunch maybe.

kudos:1 | Where's the details . . and the service? I live firmly within the map for this service from Wildfire Broadband Wireless Communications »www.wildfirebroadband.com/ but so far it hasn't shown up on any wireless system I've booted up.
A nearby buddy has reported it works, at least for the 30 free web sites.
The company's web site offers few details on the service, like speed, availability, privacy, etc. I couldn't even find a sign up site until nearby buddy called Friday night.
Other online sources (»www.belairnetworks.com/about_bel···?p_id=76) say the network will offer access speeds of up to 6Mbps downstream and 2Mbps upstream. If so, this service level at $29 per month beats Cox Communcations service at $40+ a month. | |
