Dual tuner HD/DD DVR, DVD recorder pretty cool.
In looking at the specs though, it says download and play...I guess it doesn't stream the WM9 or MPEG2? Also it's IPTV OR satellite? This according to their descpription on the device page.
said by 2wire : Service combines satellite TV programming with Internet-based video on demand, music on demand, Caller ID, digital photo-sharing and remote access...
From this PR I guess they'll have a separate DN sat receiver and then this box for VOD.

They would have gone with DirecTv.

I wonder how it will work with the premium content... Akimbo has a lot to offer even without the premium content. They have everything from the cartoon network to HereTV (LGBT programming) to BBC to cooking shows to Naked News (and other adult programming). Granted some of that stuff requires either a subscription or a fee. It's still pretty awesome and the fact that they are teaming up with AT&T is probably a great thing for the company. |

said by Heterman :They would have gone with DirecTv. I hear ya. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with TV when ATT and BellSouth merge. Obviously ATT's IPTV strategy will win in the long run, but right now we have Dish Network/ATT and Directv/BellSouth and both have different IPTV rollouts and strategies planned. It's going to take a lot to move me away from my DirecTV/TiVo combo, but it will happen eventually.

Meh. It's horrible. $10/month for a couple of shows, then they want $1 to $8 per show/movie for anything actually worth watching. I'll pass. |

Looks nice from the website, I almost mistook it for the 2wire for a brief second. |

Some of the pricing leaves something to be desired... I pay around $16 a month to get what I want to watch... It is going to be pretty awesome when they start offering MovieLink movies I think... They have already started delivering HD content, I wonder if they are going to do movies in HD.. |

The irony of ATT pushing 3rd party downloads of huge videos over "their" network amuses me. 2-Tier when it makes sense, I suppose. -- Day dreaming days in a daydream nation |
