Saw this...

I saw this on my ISP's website. After reading the posts here, and the actual bill, I've determined that it's a bit over-paranoid.

Keep calling your reps.

Like many have said.....it isn't over yet.
I am sure glad to see all these groups set aside their differences for this issue. I think most who take a hard look at the battle see what's really at stake. It really does or can lead to a sell off of the Internet as we know it. Both good and bad, the internet is a pillar of free speech.

I suppose the shift will be towards a price per gigabit model if we can keep the net neutrality in force. Which could be a good thing in the end. It will start a speed war going again. If your pipe size limits your ability to make money model. ....Just a thought.

Keep your eyes open folks......keep calling..... We have to keep this front page news.

This 'law' is stupid.

It will serve to do a great many things that will be bad for American consumers. If I were a network owner, it would make me vindictive. I'd raise the broadband rates 200%, place clearly advertised caps at 1GB/month, and forget about offering anything over fiber and not bother with IPTV.

I'd then start a marketing campaign in which the I'd ask 'How do you like me now?' and get all of my fellow network operators to do the same. Consumers can leave their ISP, but when ALL ISPs are resorting to this as a backlash where will consumers go then?

Oh yeah, you can go to municipal broadband.
