I can definitely believe a sales rep would do that, considering how much of a pain it is to cancel an account with AOL. Those people will stop just a step shy from threatening you with bodily harm. |

I guess I was lucky? No offers for free months, no pleas when I cancelled, though they did transfer me to a Vietnamese operator, which I found strange...other than that, I've been clear. |

The first mistake was getting AOL in the first place. |

| I am surprised
I have delt with similar problems with relatives. AOL did not inform them they went over the allowed minutes. But instead of charging them 938 dollars AOL simply charged them 24.95 which was the dial up price at the time. -- Email/MSN: Michael at hardwaregeeks.comAIM: MikeR35292 |

1 edit | huh??
This makes no sense. All BYOA plans should be unlimited broadband that's the whole point.... but come with a certain amount of dial-up hours.
i.e. I have 6.95 unlimited broadband BYOA with three dial-up hours. Then 2.95 for each additional hour over the included 3 up to a _maximum_ of 35.00 per month in hourly charges.
Seems like AOL was trying to pull a fast one on this guy. |

I do not see anyhow why people would pay $20.00 for unlimited dial-up I have hooked up all my friends with $5.95 with uunet and level 3 access numbers |
