Comments on news posted 2006-06-14 15:42:39: As AT&T has told us and repeatedly stated publicly, they believe the 6Mbps they'll be offering customers after "Project Lightspeed" network upgrades are complete will be plenty of bandwidth for the average user. ..

| How about new news I've had 6mbit DSL for 3.5 years with Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T. They are still talking 6mbit for data. It would be nice if they stopped talking about it as if it is something new. When they start increasing the numbers on the data side maybe then it might be an announcement. | |

| at&t dead? I remember during the divestiture Southwestern Bell Telephone was the one baby bell that many thought would not last. It was too small and too regional to make it. Low and behold it has now grown to the largest communications provider in the United States and receives yearly the moniker of "Most Admired" by national publications. Anyone who thinks they should ready themselves for a downward spiral is a fool. While he is not perfect Ed Whitacre has established a dominate, world wide provider. And to all the haters, Verizon is not the only one running fiber to the premise. In Round Rock, TX, 3 fiber neighborhoods have popped up within the last few months. | |
