Better or worst

Approved of course...

TW and comcast are you going window shopping again soon?
Next thing you know it will be either TW or comcast or nothing with cable buyouts just like the telco's.

Funny thing about this is TW is getting more people than comcast is.

Typo

Hey there is a type

Anyway I don't see what the big deal is why this is such a huge deal to everyone but from what I read this morning about adelpha that this is a good thing and the company can be put in the ground once and for all.

If you think slower speeds and more expensive HSI with worse customer service for those going to TW is a good thing, well, then, yeah

Timeline for takeover?

Any word on when Comcast will assume the Adelphia territories west of DC?

This is a bummer...Adelphia HSI has been very reliable here in Culpeper county since rollout a year and a half ago. Two outages in all that time, both resolved in a few hours (cable cuts).

Re: Typo

Sad for those fellow broadbanders going to Comcrap. Terrible TV service, intermittent HSI, and ever increasing monthly $$$. Been there, done that!

If only the Verizon CSRs worked this well.

I moved from Adelphia to TW last year and customer service is outstanding, more channels, more payVOD and free VOD.

Ashamed you had bad service. I had and have great service and no problems. In any case, the switch is mostly irrelevant. The local mgt, service personnel, and infrastructure all come over intact to Conrail. If Adelphia is good for you now, it will be no different under Comcast. The only changes will be an eventual change in some TV networks being carried and an equalization of prices over time. Cable companies like Comcast and TW are multi system operators(MSOs) and each local system is run almost as an independent company. That is why some areas in a cable company are great(like mine) and others are not so hot. It takes many many years for an area to change from its heritage.

Re: Typo

From what I understand, it doesn't quite work that way. Once the infrastructure is in place and service is good, then service will not change, only the cable company name. I have great service with Adelphia's HSI, always on, very stable and fast. I expect that once Time Warner takes over that this will continue. I'm not worried.

I rarely have issues either. But anytime I call or email RR to inquire about things, I get either incorrect information, or they just gloss over my questions.

In a recent email exchange with support, I asked 5 questions, clearly separated from each other to prevent confusion. The reply consisted of an answer to one question, and a restatement of something else I had written. I replied back, pressing for the answers to my other questions, to which support replied answering 2 more questions, completely ignoring the rest.

Stuff like this doesn't just happen occasionally, but every time I contact support, bar none.

Well, don't email, call them. Email is a bad way for ISP issues, at least to me it is.

probably, but they might have a premium tier that you can upgrade to to keep your upload.

Re: Typo

Well, I don't have a phone.

And that was just an example of the most recent exchange with support. On the occasions I have called, it has been the same level of service. incorrect information, or an inability to answer my questions.

The first level or second level techs? Or both?

To be honest, I can't remember. But it doesn't matter, to me anyway. Support is support; they should be able to give me correct information.

Yes, they should, but the level 1 are mostly worthless. If I need to call, I just explain they will not be able to help me and transfer me to the next level
