| said by RadioDoc :in wolves clothing. The new commissioner may not always agree with Martin, but those who think he will jump to the Liberal big government interventionist model will be sadly disappointed. He is still a conservative and friendly to big business. He may come down harder than Martin if big business abuses their power, but he will never become some populist advocate for government overriding business decisions.
And he has already stated his position on net neutrality. He thinks stepping in and setting up onerous rules is not needed and the FCC should wait to see if abuses occur. -- -- Join Red Room Forum BLOG tkjunkmail.blogspot.com My Web Page |

Please tell me why blocking this is a good thing? I thought more digital programming was better... last time I checked. |

| I think the reasoning is that you loose analog channels and cheaper analog services/channels. Our cable company, for example, just told everyone that they have to pay for digital to get any premium channels like HBO and Showtime. While it makes sense from a technical standpoint, for people who want HBO without the massive digital charges (convertors, etc.), they are left in the cold. -- "Extremes to the right and left of any political dispute are always wrong." I think either commissioner has flunked big time for being public advocate. They are in bed with the big business. |

That kinda depends on where you are and what kinda of setup/service you got. I'm with Time Warner and when I did the initial swap from analog to digital (because I was losing what used to be HBO2 & the west coast broadcasts), I actually saved $5 a month because I didn't have to pay to break the premium channels to both of my boxes....Rental charge for the boxes themselves was the same.
Since then I have added alot to it because I have more available, but the initial swap was cheaper..... |
