Does XBox 360 even have 1080p games?

Heh... cutbacks

Everyone whined about the shortage of 360's and said the PS3 will be better at launch... well it looks like its heading down the same road..

Time will tell.

yea, after bluring of the image, and anti aliasing you can't tell the diffrence between 1080p and 720p

that and 1080p requires allot of bandwidth, and is locked into using HDMI and all that DHCP crap.

Re: XBox

The PS3 having 1080p is not going to be a huge advantage. Even so, 1080p isn't a night and day increase, considering most LCD 1080p capable displays will upconvert th 1080i signal to 1080p anyway it's a mute point.

Technicaly it's better than the XBOX launch, but hardly. People who want a PS3 will either be camping out on launch night or waiting a while.
I think the important thing for Sony is that they have enough for holiday sales.

My prediction:

Nintendo Wii to take marketshare from Sony and Microsoft.
Nintendo won't charge for online gaming access, only for oldskool Nintendo games. This is a PLUS.

Sony won't make the numbers it forecasts.

Game magazines will utter "ultimatte fan-boy praise" for Sony PS3.

Microsoft has secret weapon ready to drop once Sony can get the PS3 out. Will steal thunder. Likely the rev2 of Xbox 360 (smaller 65nm processors, Halo 3, new accessories)

ebay will see thousands of scams of PS3 units and Wii units.

Just ask the developers who write the games: MS and Nintendo have cheaper development kits. Better licensing deals for retail software.

Am I biased against Sony? maybe. But until it's out and I see that all my friends have bought one, an extra controller, online access, and games...then I'll not be so skeptical. FOr now, it is just Sony FanBoy Hype. Long Live SoNy BluRay!

Re: Heh... cutbacks

agreed.

i camped for my 360 and found it to do the 3 red lights of doom a week later..

and rumor has it the PS3 is being shipped where 1 or more cores on their 8 core CPU is dead. However the PS3 only requires that 7 cores be operational for it to boot.

Thats like saying theres no difference between ... running your desktop @ 1600x1200 vs 1024x768. Duh big difference.

Although for HD, its actually 1920 x 1080 resolution or 1280 x 720.

XBOX360 & PS3 FTL - I'll keep my "higher than 1080p" resolution on my Dell 24" LCD thank you very much.

Re: My prediction:

I think people are going to be buying 360's and Wii's....then having a hard time justifying a PS3 unless the killer exclusive titles are there, which I've yet to see....

Strange and mundane as it sounds, a big part of this gen competition is getting users to pay absurd amounts for old arcade and Nintendo classics, and I've yet to see Sony focus much on that front....

your comparing two diffrent things, i run my computer at 2048x1536, and can't stand anything under 1600x1200, but remember, a console renders diffrent then a PC does where with a PC you can change the size of text and icons to make them look bigger and smaller in relation to the resolution, where the console allways renders the same scale regardless of resolution.

example being, it's a tv not a monitor, where with a monitor you can easily tell the diffrence between 1024x768 and 1600x1200, with a tv 1080i and 720p basically look the same.

I want to get a wii so bad over ps3 for price. But just can't. That damn controller is gonna be why that system will fail ultimately unless they create an alternative.

Uh, not sure if your screen will display these, but mine will!

There is a difference between 720p and 1080p... slightly.

If your screen/TV/monitor cannot achieve 1920x1200 and simply shrinks a 1080p picture to fit on a lower res screen, yeah! There will be no difference.

Some of us do have screens capable of displaying 1080p video @ 1920x1200. *WE* can see a difference.

EDIT: This is my laptop - which just happens to be my TV/display/monitor/etc.

I have looked into this over and over, everything says that both gamecube controllers and wii classic contollers can only be used for classic nintendo games and gamecube games. Not Wii titles.
