one problem

Ok say you BUY these movies and your Ipod goes out. Are you able to redownload the movies for free or you have to pay for them again?

If it was me i would rather have the DVD and uploaded it to the Ipod then, i have a hard copy of it.

You can't download your iTunes songs (well, once, but you have to ask nicely) if you lose them, so I would imagine not.

I have tried to see things from your point of view, but no matter how hard I try, or what I do, I just can't get my head that far up my ass.

That's the clincher for me, without being able to burn to DVD so I can watch on my set top, there is no way I'm buying "near DVD" quality videos that I can only watch on my computer.

Of course, you can thank the MPAA.

Apple would be lucky to make $1 profit on each movie sold.

and I'm betting even if you used S-Video out, that wonderful Quicktime window won't quite even go to fullscreen!

If you could play these back fullscreen through a tv-out, and it looked ok on SDTV, it MIGHT be worth $3/movie or $10/subscription... oh wait, Apple won't do that.

Soooooo, what am I missing here?
You can't do a darn thing with these that's worth a darn!

..I especially do NOT like quicktime's INability to do Full Screen video like ...EVERY other player out there...

This is going to flop miserably.

way to go

I do give apple credit though. They are finally putting a great amount of the the old peer to peer media to legally be able to download it. Everyone has been saying that there was no way to get the content on kazaa for example except illegally. They have been very successfull but they still have a ways to go.

I can burn music onto CD using Itunes, I would guess you can burn the DVD as well?

I have been downloading video (music) for a little while now, since they started doing it, and I can also put that on CD.

Itunes will complain if I do it 3 or so times but it still lets me do it.

You can only "back up" the movies as far as I know, and not in a format that your DVD player would be able to play, it'd just be the DRMed movie file on a disc really.

To much money

Way to damn pricey. I can just wait a few months for a dvd to go on sale for $10.

Hmm.... let see... you have one copy on your PC/Mac and one copy on your iPod. I would say that's more of a backup plan than most people have. So if your iPod bites the bit then you still have a copy on your PC that you can sync your new iPod with.

I don't think most people will use this to replace their DVDs. But if you want you can always plug your laptop or iPod into your TV and watch the movie that way.

You missed the point are you really going to keep 100 movies on your HD? What happens if your hard drive fails? Are you able to burn a copy to DVD? But whats the point. Low grade dvd video.

Someone might. And if your HD fails then you backup from your iPod. Low grade DVD video? Better than VHS or VideoCD. Some people may be okay with that. The lower resolution TV shows that they've been selling for a while now have done very well. And what's to keep someone from backing up the video to DVD to later transfer back to a computer? As long as the other PC is authorized you should be okay.

You can go to full screen if you buy it (register it), but it sure is little too of an important feature to disable in a trial version.

A big yawn on all 3.

new ipods? More like upgraded to nothing at all. I guess Apple does not care about falling behind in features like newer better mp3 players already out. Glad i bought my Sandisk player.

Itunes movie downloads? hehe I think everyone is laughing at this. DRM laden movies, low quality, no support except from Disney and a few small movie companies. I would rather watch apple.com movie trailers than download movies from itunes.

Video bridge unit? All but diehard apple fans fall back to sleep yelling at Steve Jobs for waking them up.
