So according to this new precedent if I say Bill Gates makes shitty operating system (THIS IS HYPOTHETICAL I DON'T MEAN THIS PLEASE DONT SUE ME!!!)then I can be sued? Or would I have to say something like "Bill gates puts viruses in his operating systems" Wtf. What about all the rants, people talking about how crappy their expereience was with certain ISPs here? They can now be sued? This is so ridiculous. I hope the lady that won this money looses her business and goes bankrupt. Am I allowed to say that? Well I guess thats not really defamation, but you get my point. | |

1 edit | About that coffee thing... Do any of you actually know what a "third degree burn" looks like? The most damage you could do with coffee is a second degree burn, which actually only damages the external skin and the topmost sections immediately under it, the sub-dermal layer where all the nerve cells are.
With third degree burns, you have no skin remaining, and not much else.
Not surprisingly, victims of these types of burns often die, or are permanently severely disabled due to compromised body functions that no longer work.

UPDATE:
Just found out the particulars of this case and it's NOT a case of he said/she said as was made out... It's a clear case of libel and slander against the parent of a teenager. A teenager that this parent put into a "school" for "troubled teens" that was anything but a helping-hand type facility.
You know where this is going...
The said facility asked the parent to trust them, and then they abused that trust by treating her daughter to a hospital visit -WITHOUT- notifying her mother that there was a issue requiring medical attention. I don't know about you but if I -TRUST YOU- and give you guardianship over my child and later my child goes to the hospital and nobody let's me know, let's just say that someones head will come off. Just like that.
I think these guys are a danger, and everything I've read of this organization tells me that there are a great many fools out there who can be manipulated and conned into believing that these unlicensed, uncontrolled pseudo-psychotherapists can help parents with troubled teens.
My own parents used to threaten me with military school. Until I found out it was really, really expensive. | |
