| | Anyone who supports erring on the side of caution...... As one who was falsely arrested and spent tens of thousands of dollars while prosecutors tried their best to make evidence fit or "reconcile the facts" as they put it in court, I must say this witch hunt has gone too far. The government claims they want to protect children, but all they did for me as one who was falsely accused was destroy my property then threaten to shoot me in the mouth if I moved while they stole money, pilfered my safe, and threatened all of my neighbors. No children were protected and only the constitution suffered because the state literally tried to wipe its *** with my civil rights. | |

Jodokast96Stupid people really piss me off.Premium join:2005-11-23 Erial, NJ kudos:2 | SWAT Tactics I'll just throw my 2 cents in on why it was a SWAT raid. Where I live, as well as in the communities around me, SWAT is always used for serving warrants, of any kind. Knowing a SWAT officer or two, I also know that while they do plan the raids, they are not the guys doing the investigations on the people they raid. They are called in, given the tactical info they need, and go in.
Back to why they serve all warrants, is due to exactly what on member posted earlier. You never know what you will run into, and after that first time a cop goes down, it will be the last time the regular cops go in. About 10 years ago, there were reports of a tranny abusing children. A member of the county prosecutor's office and a member of children's services were dispatched to investigate. Two local police officers were there to escort them. One of the four noticed some bullets in his bedroom with an X cut into them. After their interview, they left and returned a few hours later with a warrant for a complete search of the house. Upon their arrival, the guy grabs an AK-47 and opens fire. One cop is killed instantly, another severely wounded. While the injured officer is dragging himself out of the house, the creep starts shooting out of his upstairs window, killing another cop, who happened to be the brother of the injured officer.
End result, two cops dead, an injured cop files suit claiming they were sent in without proper training, and the death penalty for the creep is overturned because of the officer's lawsuit. Now you know why SWAT is always used in my neck of the woods. Here's one quick link I found »www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_m···n/5.html This is actually the fifth page of the story, the first four just giving background on the creep. A search for "Leslie Nelson" with "New Jersey" and "Transexual" should pull all kinds of links.
| | | Child Porn Suppliers require SWAT? Seriously, I didn't realize those creating or consuming child pornography were considered armed and extremely dangerous to a point that it requires a SWAT team.
Sounds to me more like SWAT could be better used hunting down killers and drug suppliers and let the regular cops and detectives find the less lethal encounters--but then again I am not like the fool that gave the go-ahead to raid the Leave It To Beaver home.

| | | child porn raids I wonder how many of these child porno criminals are using unsecure wiresless routers to do there deed.
Hell, they could be setting outside a Starbucks doing this crap! Are they going to SWAT raid that business and start asking about IP information! haha

I really hope my ISP upped their standards a bit when it comes to things like this.
If they just clean up after their own mistake, after raiding the wrong house, but nope, SWAT goes in, creates a giant mess, walk off, and probably just a forced, and obviously false "Sorry."...all while still getting paid probably.
| | | | Habeas corpus and now thanks to my good friend Bush law enforcement don't even have to tell you why you are being arrested and you don't have a right to make a call and they can hold you however long they want you.
