Sprint good data deals; lousy coverage

The cable agreements with Sprint are good because of the good data fees Sprint has(as long as cable keeps those data fees similar). And the planned single voice mailbox is good. But until Sprint can take advantage of all that additional spectrum they bought, their geographical coverage compared to their wireless competitors is in last place. I wouldn't consider switching from Verizon until the Sprint coverage areas are expanded.

Current Sprint Customers?

I am currently a Sprint customer and curious how this might affect others like me. Will new phones capable of dual/trimode (CDMA, WiFi/VoIP, iDEN) be needed? Will existing accounts be able to be synced up with Comcast? Or will this be new subscribers only?

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

don't worry.

like every other ace in the hole Sprint has had, they will figure out a way to bungle this one too.

From all the technological superiority they have, why aren't they the number 1 carrier? Oh wait I know, they are IDIOTS.

Re: Sprint good data deals; lousy coverage

AT&T has that "unified messaging" gimmick and it's less than exciting. Maybe Sprint can do it better. Ha! I crack myself up sometimes...

Cable companies have no incentive to be price-competitive. Sprint isn't exactly a performance leader and there is no unique feature to drive sales other than the data aspect, and that eats into the MSOs bread-and-butter so don't expect much of a deal there, either.

I keep thinking that Sprint/Nextel is prepping itself for absorption into Comcast or one of the other big cable outfits. They really don't have the chops to compete and their corporate attitude is worse than most.

For 07 a 7 billion dollar network upgrade is going to be made while the network is currently being improved. Deployment takes time and I am surprised they are going to get all the EV-DO Rev A upgrades by the end of this year, but we shall see.

Re: Phone, please

Comcast is already selling mobile phone service in Portland. It's not being advertised, but call and ask about it...
