C'mon MS will drop the price in the next 3 weeks OR early in January after Christmas honestly I think the PS3 hype is dead now, I think the wii has the upper hand in everything compared to the PS3. -- "Sure there have been injuries and deaths in boxing - but none of them serious."- Alan Minter, Boxer"I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada."- Britney Spears, Pop Singer |

That price quoted in the story is for £199.99, not dollars. »www.computerandvideogames.com/ar···d=149898
Microsoft has knocked ten quid off the price of the Xbox 360 Core System in the UK.... stating the price of the console as "from £199.99 RRP".
£199.99 equals $387.45 at current exchange rates.
The core system is currently selling at $299.95 in US today. So the US is already selling the core system for less than what the UK price is after the price drop. »froogle.google.com/froogle?q=xbo···+Froogle

Xbox 360 is a mature console. Manufacturing costs are probably low enough now for M$ to drop the retail price.
They'd be smart to bundle a free game with it too; would make bad memories of non-available PS3s fade faster IMHO. -- Life is a journey; death is a given. |

I'm hearing a lot of buzz on the street about the Wii. People are intrigued by the new controller, and the lower price.

Still, Microsoft more or less translated the price directly to £ due to covering the cost of import duties and stuff to the country.
So more or less... if they're going to start seeing Xbox 360 (core)s for £199.99 in the UK, that is going to mean that we'll be seeing them for $199.99 sooner or later. -- Front Line Force Fortress Forever |

| Wii is the only one that...
worth considering as a next-gen console. Its completely newly invented control system speaks for itself - 360 and PS3 is nothing but a nice upgrade of the old, boring console phenomenon. Higher-res graphics (boohoo, PC games had so-called "HD games" ever since), integrated movie player, faster, nicer etc and pretty much that's it. Nothing to be amused by - as a reviewer put it last week the Wii offers at least twice the fun for half the price. |

They said teh nintendo DS was a fad also with thier new style gaming (dual screens and touch screen) and it is still selling like gang busters. I seriously doubt the wii is a fad. and selling 1 million consoles in the first day and remaining sold it is no way a fad. The n-gage was a fad wii is not a fad. |

Someone at M$ Marketing should realize that a free game is a win-win, especially for parents. Even if they have to up the price by $25. It is a pain to buy a game separately after kicking out $300+ just on the console. It doesnt have to be a M$ Gold tier game like Halo, but maybe a mid-tier game title. Anything that can be played asap when opening the box. |

Does not follow. The dollar and the pound are not on par with each other. If they were on sale here for 200$ and on sale in London for £200 a person could become rich overnight through the grey market. |
