We have enough EMR already floating around to see if this is a problem. Cordless phones operate on the same frequencies of WiFi units yet no one is telling people to ditch those things.
Prove your point and have it verified or STFU. |

| Not quite the same thing...
I don't think that comparing these people to Louis Pasteur is quite the same thing. At least he had some sort of scientific basis for his claim, whereas these people have none. We also know that EMR from all across the spectrum comes from the sun alone, and that (with the exception of melanoma from UV rays) certainly isn't killing us. |

Why shut down a school wi-fi when i bet there is a couple of CELL TOWERS pumping out RF close by or better yet a couple of repeaters near there.
Hell maybe i could complain saying the cell tower 1/2 mile from my house is making me sick and they need to turn the POS off. ( i dont own a cell phone BTW)
IMO these people claim this stuff MAYBE JUST MAYBE they need the F****** head EXAMINED |

Unless you removed the door, the microwave is shielded. And it's usually turned off. |

Okay I find it really interesting how people are all attacking these people who claim to have been "hurt" by wifi. Could this be a psychosomatic response to an "unknown" ? I think its like the microwave people were afraid when they first come out, i think its just the same phenomenon. |

This guru has the right idea. You have these people making these bogus assumptions that WiFi is killing them, ripping down a school's system, etc....NIMBY at its worst.
I bet people don't know a thing about 'real' problems right in their backyard, like living near a Superfund site. »www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/locate/index.htm -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your forsight becomes a nimble vagrant."

Seems that cell phones pose a bigger hazard cause you hold it up to your head - spewing radio waves many times stronger that wifi.

| Radiation by any other name is
still radiation!
Different cells react differently. You have an allergy to pollen? I don't. But I'm allergic to latex. Are you?
I can hear certain frequencies that might make a woman scream in pain, yet I can't hear the one of my watch's 2nd hand. Does that make me crazy? No. Irrational? No.
But cell tissues DO react to prolonged exposure to radiation. Whether from cellphones, radios, EMF/EMR, paging, microwaves... just how much and how long isn't understood.
Anyway, there are tin hats, tin-plated mesh and other metal fabrics that can protect you (and your schoolkids) if you are that concerned. You can even radhard your home. However, don't expect to receive any signals inside.
Just remember that WiFi is responsible for global warming...radiating the atmosphere!
(I'm kidding. It's really all the GPS and COMsats...) |

wifi (2.4GHz) = cancerous cells
but
cordless phone/baby monitor/wireless video game controller (2.4 GHz) != cancerous cells
Are you serious? So you mean to tell us that the cause of the cancer is the payload travelling over the waves and not the frequency of the waves themselves? I find that pretty hard to swallow... |

No. Yes, but that's totally different than what this lady is claiming. She claims that specifically wifi affects her health. Please note that there are myriad other devices that operate on the same frequency as wifi, but according to her they don't effect her. So her argument seems to be 2.4GHz signal carrying IP packets = bad, but 2.4GHz signal carrying a phone call or anything else = no problem. Seems a little fishy, doesn't it? Now if she was claiming that any wireless signal in the 2.4GHz spectrum caused her problems I'd be a little more open-minded about this.
She also claims that she can immediately tell if wifi is available in a location because of it's effects on her. I suppose then that she can differentiate between the feeling of wifi in the air and the feeling of a 2.4GHz baby monitor signal in the air, right? |
