one pet peeve...

one pet peeve of mine is when they DO upgrade the speeds, they don't take into account the 'overhead' from antiquated protocols such as PPPOE "Verizon".. so 5 megabits Upload is 4.3 mbits.. sometimes less, rarely more.. if they were serious.. they'd up it to symmetrical 15/15 (no point in making FTTP less than 15 megabits) 20/20, 50/50 for RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS AT LOW PRICE$!

Right...

'They' just don't want you to be able to set up your own server -- whether it's to share pictures of the grandkids, or share music & videos with your friends all over the world [gasp]; not to mention streaming audio of your favourite records to ten people at the same time, or maximum gaming experience. Stinks of RIAA to me, and that's a peculiar smell.....
