A Bit Torrent client that can successfully download without uploading? Yeah, this is every leecher's dream. Hopefully trackers will simply ban any clients running it. |

Maybe that explains why I upload at full speed but only get a 400byte/second download... |

If they can't successfully poison some of the networks with bad content maybe they could have success with poisoning the network with evil clients?
This is just a brain dead idea anyway so anyone that truly cared about p2p file distribution would never create such a thing. I'm guessing that "follow the money" will lead to an answer in this situation. -- Location: +48° 5' 23.40", -119° 48' 30.00" |

But this way you can still get in trouble for spreading copyrighted content.
Now people can download as much copyrighted content as they want, with the protection of usenet and the price of bittorrent. It's win win!

It works fine for what I use it mostly for.

I upload at 2/3 of my 768kbit upload max. That's enough to get me close to max capacity (3mbit) down on popular torrents. Even with less popular files, I rarely get less than what I give.
I'm not sure if it made much difference but, under transfer options in Azureus, I upped the "Max number of connections per torrent default" setting significantly. I rarely dl more than one or two files at a time... so I wanted to use as much resources on those files as possible. See »www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Ad···settings
The default per torrent is 70. The global default is 300. IIRC, I set the per torrent to 250 and the global to 500. THe additional overhead is worth it (I think) and my aging computer is not particularly laggy because of it either. -- My Site |

| reply to TKJunkMail Over 3 weeks of seeding, I get a share ratio of 22, yet there still is only 0-2 seeds. Now I just "block upload" if a peer has more than 70%, or if its a BitComet, "Kick Ban" since it defeats "block upload". If I stop giving the peer data they will have to sit around and try to negotitate with other peers (who can get pieces from me cuz they arent 70% yet) for data, which includes some trading action. I wish there was a feature where I can limit the speed of each peer I am uploading to (I am seed) to 1 or 2 kBps, if I have 5 peers, I upload 5kBps on that torrent, 20 peers, 20kBps. It forces peers to stay around and do some "torrent action" rather than use me as a file server. Also, peers should ask peers "what IPs can I talk to check that you are uploading since I dont trust a word you say?". Leechers and 99% of internet users wont have multiple public IPs to run fake peers that say "he uploaded 50 gigs to me" to get downloads for the leecher peer. |

| reply to AtlGuy Where exactly did he label you a thief? If you are referring to his comment about morality, he only referenced *most* BT users, not *all. The only other way I can see you thinking he called you a thief is if YOU are using BitThief, in which case you can kindly gtfo and stfu. |
