1 edit | Time Warner Phone??? Sprint already has Virgin as a standalone. Is Sprint purposely trying to kill themselves?
It is funny Virgin gets higher ratings that Sprint and they are the SAME network!

| | | Re: Time Warner Phone??? Sprint also has Helio, boost (nextel Iden network), they had a Disney and ESPN phone provider too. They are all leasing space from the sprint. | |

| Pointless What is the point of rebranding if you dont get some kind of discount?
I still dont own a cell phone and just to have a cell to prgram my dvr. I think i can program that is programs itself
Really if you have to have a cell phone with TV you have a TV addiction point close.

This story is POOOOOORLY reported, once again, by BBR.
They are not going to show this as simply a 4th element of the so-called Quad play. They don't want this to be viewed simply as a "4th element of a quadruple play"... rather, they want it to be marketed as a service of features as "on the go"... meaning, you can connect with the DVR, interact with your other services like your telephone voice mail, email, tv on your phone, etc. In other words, there are plenty of cell phone providers, they are looking to be set apart from others.
Will there be a bundled discount? most likely not, and if there is a discount, it will mostly be in a market competitive price.
In other words, cable isn't looking to be a cell phone provider, rather if you're going to have cell service, we've got one that will work for you AND give you a way to connect you with your existing services, which other providers can't. -- "Wipe out the national deficit over night... I am trying to get rid of TWC so they shouldn't expect me to sigh up if they offer. Got rid of cable and looking to get rid of the phone service. Wish I had more choices for internet but limited in my city.

1 edit | Pivot Interestingly, an online survey I participate in (and logged into right after I read this story here) just sent me a survey about this thing. It's branded Pivot. (www.pivot.com) The phone in the sample ad they showed is a Samsung A900M advertised at 49.99. Actually, I don't believe the article even mentioned Time Warner, it just said "cable company", so maybe other cablecos will offer this as well. (It actually first asked me who my provider is. Mine wasn't on the list so I marked Other and the rest of the survey referred to "Pivot and Other")
The fact that they're using a Samsung phone to advertise it would lose my interest right off. The best thing about Sprint is they have Sanyo phones.
(edit: Looks like the website's not up yet, IE cannot find site or DNS error but ping resolves to 63.161.192.170)
