Comments on news posted 2007-02-06 18:21:55: Steve Jobs offers up his thoughts on DRM over at the official Apple blog, where he argues that if the major labels weren't forcing Apple to offer DRM downloads, Apple would eliminate DRM "in a heartbeat" and we'd be awash in interoperable music utopi.. ..
So I have a suggestion. Why dont the two of you create a new music label and sign artists who agree to no DRM. Then you guys can sell all the drm free music you want. i think you have enough money that you could snag a few big name artists then the rest would come running once they saw the cut they get.
if you want to win, just treat artists right and DRM will go away.
There actually is a company that does that, sells DRM-free music: www.eMusic.com who sell only plain-jane MP3 files. The only gripe I have with them is that you only get x number of songs a month, excluding their random free-song-of-the-day...
